Early on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb. She saw that the stone had been rolled away and the body of Jesus was not there. Jesus said, go tell my brothers and my sisters that I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God!

2 People: (singing) 4 He speaks, and the sound of his voice Is so sweet the birds hush their singing; And the melody that he gave to me Within my heart is ringing. PENITENCE 5 heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen (Congregation may be seated) PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION WORD EPISTLE READING James 2: NT Pg 230 With heads bowed low, and with humble hearts still ringing with Jesus good news, let us pray for God s forgiving grace. All: As we gather together this Easter morning, we remember the times when have walked our own path instead of Jesus path. Like Mary, we wonder aimlessly searching for Jesus. O God, open our eyes to your presence among us. Just as you rolled away the boulder in front of Jesus tomb, clear away our sins and failures so that we may walk each day with Jesus and find your everlasting peace. (Silence) After speaking with Jesus, Mary Magdalene went to tell the disciples the news, I have seen the Lord! People (singing) I d stay in the garden with him, Though the night around me be falling; But he bids me go; through the voice of woe His voice to me is calling. Let us share again what it is that we believe. All: I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into SERMON TEXT Matthew 28: 1-10 NT Pg 33 Choral Response: O God, You are my God, and I will ever praise You. O God, You are my God, and I will ever praise You. I will seek you in the morning, and I will learn to walk in Your ways; And step by step You lead me, and I will follow You all my days. (Congregation May Be Seated) SPECIAL MUSIC (6 a.m.) Communion Meditation arranged by Victor Johnson BELL CHOIR Jesus, Keep Near the Cross William Doane SERMON possibilities in the impossible (Congregation Stands) RESPONSIVE HYMN He Lives I serve a risen Savior, He's in the world today; I know that He is living whatever men may say; I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer, And just the time I need Him, He's always near. Chorus: He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way. He lives, He lives, Salvation to impart! You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart. In all the world around me I see His loving care, And tho' my heart grows weary I never will despair; I know that He is leading thro' all the stormy blast,

3 6 The day of His appearing will come at last. Chorus Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, lift up your voice and sing Eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ the King! The hope of all who seek Him, the help of all who find, None other is so loving, so good and kind. Chorus OFFERTORY SENTENCES GIVING OFFERTORY( 6 a.m.) Ave Verum Corpus Mozart OFFERTORY Music for Easter DOXOLOGY (singing) Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise God, all creatures here below; Praise God above, you heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost CHOIR ANTHEM "Easter Celebration" Don Besig He is alive! Tell the world this Easter day. Let the heavens resound with voices raised on high. He is alive! Let the earth break forth in praise. Let the joyful sound ring out; He is alive! Christians come and greet the morning; let your songs be loud and clear. Now a brand new day is dawning, free from sorrow, doubt and fear. Alleluia! Alleluia! Tell the news for all to hear. Christ the Lord will reign victorious. He has conquered death and sin. All the world is bright an glorious- Earth and heaven rejoice in Him. Alleluia! Alleluia! Christ the savior lives again! 7 He is alive! Let the earth break forth in praise. He is alive! Sing with joy this day of days. Christians join in celebration. Let the bells of Easter ring! Come in praise and adoration. Let your hearts be glad and sing: Alleluia! Alleluia! Hail to Christ our risen King! He is alive! He is alive! He is alive! THE TABLE Lift up your hearts! All: We lift them up to the Lord! We praise you, Jesus, for the promise of everlasting life, assuring us that, because you live we shall live also and that nothing can separate us from your love. All: Thanks be to you for giving us everlasting life! All: All: We remember the very first communion that you shared with your disciples. We think about the closeness that they knew and realize that you hold each of us just as tightly today. Thanks be to you for keeping close to each of us! The love that we have through Jesus Christ is stronger than anything that we can even imagine. It is filled with promise, hope, and peace and is given freely to all of us. Thanks be to you for the promise of your love! We offer you our praise and thanksgiving. As we eat and drink at your table on this special day, we pray that we may see the world through your eyes, and that we may know you are with us in the breaking of this bread. All: singing Christ is risen! Earth and heaven never more shall be the same. Break the bread of new creation where the world is still in pain. Tell its grim demonic chorus; Christ is risen! Get you gone! God the First and Last is with us. Sing Hosanna, everyone!

4 8 Jesus gathered with the disciples in a quiet room, and they shared in a meal. As they ate, he took a loaf of bread, blessed it, broke it, and shared it with them, saying, This is my body. Do this and remember me Then Jesus took a cup, and, after giving thanks, shared it with them, saying, This is the cup of the new covenant, which is poured out for you. Do this and remember me. Great is the mystery of faith: All: Jesus has died, Jesus is risen, Jesus will come again. PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION LORD S PRAYER (singing) Our Father, Who art in the heavens, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come Thy will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our debts. As we forgive our debtors; And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory Forever and ever. Amen (Congregation May Be Seated) In the breaking of the bread we are one with Jesus Christ Through the cup of blessing we share in the new life Christ pours out for the world. Come, for all things are ready! THE SHARING OF THE ELEMENTS (We offer wine or grape juice as the symbol of the Blood of Christ. Grape juice is the light, wine is the dark. The lead usher offers gluten free wafers.) 9 BLESSING OF THE CHILDREN (Children who did not receive communion and infants are welcomed to come forward and receive a blessing at this time).
