2 Prayer that Releases Power Part 2 VIII. The Prayer of Faith. James 5:13 Is anyone among you afflicted (ill-treated, suffering evil)? He should pray. Is anyone glad at heart? He should sing praise [to God]. 14 Is anyone among you sick? He should call in the church elders (the spiritual guides). And they should pray over him, anointing him with oil in the Lord s name. 15 And the prayer [that is] of faith will save him who is sick, and the Lord will restore him; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]. 17 Elijah was a human being with a nature such as we have [with feelings, affections, and a constitution like ours]; and he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, and no rain fell on the earth for three years and six months. 18 And [then] he prayed again and the heavens supplied rain and the land produced its crops [as usual]. A. This letter from James is written to the church. (Vs 14) B. Christians who are sick are supposed to pray for themselves. (Vs 13) 1. The Word does not instruct you to run to your pastor or Benny Hinn. 2. Trying to find someone more anointed to pray for you is unscriptural. 3. A sinner can run to someone else, but a Christian is to pray for himself. C. The second part of Vs 13 says if you are happy, you do the praising! 1. It is crazy to expect your pastor to laugh on your behalf. 2. So also, it is crazy for him to substitute his faith for the absence of yours. D. The word translated sick in Vs 14 is actually the Greek word which means bedridden. 1. Only he who is incapable of praying for himself should call for the elders. 2

3 2. Don t go to the pastor when you have a headache. E. The word prayer in Vs 15 means place a demand on. 1. It is not the word that means ask. 2. You are demanding circumstances to align with the Word. 3. This verse should actually read: The demand of faith will save the sick. 4. Save is the Greek word sozo saved, healed, delivered, and set free. 5. The sickness never came from God, so why ask Him to take it away? 6. The two most redundant prayers are: a. God heal me. b. God bless me. 7. God will not heal you; He already did 2000 years ago. 8. If you give someone your pen, it is ridiculous for them to ask for your pen. 9. Jesus already carried every sickness and disease so you wouldn t have to. 10. Sickness is a work of the devil. 11. Because you have jurisdiction, you can tell sickness to go from your body. 12. Jurisdiction is authority. a. Jury + diction (the law + the spoken word). b. You have a legal right to speak the Word over that sickness. F. The proper translation of Vs 16 is The earnest DEMAND of a righteous man. 1. A righteous man knows his rights. 2. Much power is released when someone knows and exercises their rights. G. Elijah demanded no rain by the leading of the Lord, and the sky obeyed. (Vs 17) H. When he demanded the rain to return after 3½ years, it obeyed him again. (Vs 18) 3

4 IX. God s part in all this is finished. A. 2 Peter 1:3 For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue). 1. Has bestowed is past tense. 2. Stop asking God; His part is finished. 3. That covers about 90% of prayers! 4. Jesus is sitting down right now because He is finished! B. Stop waiting on God and start demanding circumstances. C. As long as the devil has you begging, he can keep you from victorious living. D. If you did not order the sickness, stamp it Return to Sender. X. 1 Corinthians 2:12 Now we have not received the spirit [that belongs to] the world, but the [Holy] Spirit Who is from God, [given to us] that we might realize and comprehend and appreciate the gifts [of divine favor and blessing so freely and lavishly] bestowed on us by God. XI. 2 Corinthians 4:13 Yet we have the same spirit of faith as he had who wrote, I have believed, and therefore have I spoken. We too believe, and therefore we speak, A. Before you open your mouth, make sure you have believed. B. Hoping, wishing, and wanting are not prerequisites to the demand of faith. C. Words do not move mountains; faith does. D. Words are carriers of faith. XII. Mark 11:24 For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]. A. A prerequisite to asking is that you believe. 1. The original Greek word for believe is pisto which is past tense. 2. The time to believed is at the moment you prayed. B. When you become immovable, mountains move. 4

5 XIII. Matthew 16:19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind (declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth must be what is already bound in heaven; and whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth must be what is already loosed in heaven. A. God is not in the binding and loosing business; you are! B. Example: Brother Hagin got interrupted during a vision with Jesus by a little imp. 1. Jesus did not do anything about it! 2. Finally Brother Hagin commanded it to go. 3. God turned over the authority to man 2000 years ago. XIV. Matthew 18:18 Truly I tell you, whatever you forbid and declare to be improper and unlawful on earth must be what is already forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit and declare proper and lawful on earth must be what is already permitted in heaven. A. Do not be a bystander who allows the thief to steal a car. B. You are a policeman with a badge of authority, so use it! C. You have to know what is allowed in heaven so you can enforce kingdom law. D. You are a citizen of heaven. E. Kings rule by their words jurisdiction (the spoken word). F. You are the only one who can exercise rights regarding your own house. G. If it is not allowed in heaven, why are you allowing it in your house? H. Call things that be not as though they were! I. Upcoming new book release: God doesn t heal anymore! XV. Testimony of Miss Anita Siddiki winning the battle against MS. A. It took two years of listening to the word 24/7 until revelation came. B. She was told she could never have another child. Josiah just turned 13! XVI. The devil tried to kill all three of Dr. Siddiki s sons, but he would not allow it! A. Until children reach the age of accountability, they ride on their parents faith. B. You better build up your faith, take authority, and rejoice like it is done. 5

6 XVII. Dr. Siddiki s brother died in London, England, and was raised up from the morgue. XVIII. This past December, Dr. Siddiki s sister was in the hospital in critical condition. A. Dr. Siddiki s brother-in-law was desperate to not lose his wife. B. Her prognosis was a 5% chance of survival; her kidneys and bladder were failing. C. Dr. Siddiki assured his brother-in-law that she would live and not die. D. They immediately went into prayer, declaring their rights. E. Dr. Siddiki flew out and stopped his brother-in-law from signing release papers. F. The day before Christmas Eve, she came out of the coma, her heart was beating normally, her BP was normal, and her bladder and kidney started functioning. G. Dr. Siddiki never once asked God to heal her. XIX. Mark 11:23 Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. 24 For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]. A. You should not try to raise every person from the dead! B. Ask the Holy Spirit what you should do. XX. James 2:17 So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead). 20 Are you willing to be shown [proof], you foolish (unproductive, spiritually deficient) fellow, that faith apart from [good] works is inactive and ineffective and worthless? 21 Was not our forefather Abraham [shown to be] justified (made acceptable to God) by [his] works when he brought to the altar as an offering his [own] son Isaac? A. God wants the seed that establishes and reveals your faith. B. That is your ergon = corresponding actions of obedience. C. Your seed is your only evidence of your faith. D. Talk is cheap; you have to prove your faith. E. Only a significant seed will bring a significant harvest. 6
