We know the Bible is true because the Bible is God s Word Challenge 1:2 1 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, A workman that needeth not to be ashamed, Rightly dividing the word of truth. (The name AWANA comes from this verse) Challenge 1:3 Proverbs Every word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Do not add to His words, Or He will rebuke you and prove you a liar. We know the Bible is true because God says His word is pure Challenge 1:4 2 Peter 1:16 We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty. We know the Bible is true because God used at least 40 men to write the Bible and yet it all fits together. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him. We know the Bible is true because events that Were prophesied really happened. Challenge 3:2 Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, Through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. I need to know that God offers me the ultimate gift (salvation) Challenge 3:3 Bring your Bibles! Search for answers to the questions January 18 January 25 February 1 February 8 NIGHT 3 Challenge 3:4 Exodus 20:3-4 You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in Heaven above or in the waters below. Exodus 20:5a You shall not bow down to them or worship them. Exodus 20:7a,8 You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Challenge 3:5 Exodus 20:12-15 Honor your Father and your Mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. Exodus 20:16-17 You shall not give false testimony against your Neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor s house. You shall Not covet your neighbor s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor. I need to know that god wants me to honor my family and my neighbors Challenge 3:6 Titus 3:5 He saved us, not because of righteous things We had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. I need to know that God is merciful. I need to know that because of the Lord Jesus Christ, I am loved. Review: John 5:24 I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; He has crossed over from death to life. Challenge 5:4 Romans 4:5 However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness. Challenge 5:6 Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiviness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God s grace. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
