Update from Respect Life Committee The MMR Respect Life ministry wishes to thank our parishioners for their continued generosity to regional pro-life activities. The recent Baby Bottle Drive collected over $7,400 to support the Legacy of Life Foundation. These funds provide ongoing sustenance to two counseling centers (one in Philadelphia and the other in Bristol, PA) focused on helping abortion-minded women and men to choose life for their child. Additionally, a third home in Bristol serves as a way station to provide ongoing assistance (for up to three years) to parents of young children, including: Transportation and medical support for proper pre-natal care Child care services for children of mothers as they transition back to work or seek new employment Counseling and education in caring for the baby/ child A community of like minded people, which has a strong spiritual component rooted in our Catholic faith After the final count, Legacy of Life called this a "very successful and blessed drive, and we know you will share in the blessings! We are praying for MMR parishioners, and especially everyone who gave so generously". D.A.R.A. Drug Addiction Resource Alliance D.A.R.A. will be holding a resource forum at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer on June 29 th, at 6:00 pm in MMR's Catholic Education Center (CEC). There will be over 20 local agencies present for attendees to visit before the presentation begins at 7:00 pm. The presentation will feature speakers in recovery, families of those who are in recovery or those who have lost their battle with addiction, recovery specialists, and so much more! D.A.R.A. is a collective of local resources in our community that are available to assist those who suspect someone they love may be struggling with substance abuse disorder and provide education and support to the families. D.A.R.A. was formed when Magisterial l District Judge Andrea Duffy identified a need in our community for more intervention. Even if addiction has not impacted your life YET, please attend our forum to understand what is drastically affecting our community. Parents, teachers, community leaders and volunteers are welcome. VBS Cancelled Due to a lack of adult volunteers, VBS is cancelled. Thank you to all who took the time to sign-up, and thank you for your support.
