1 June 10, 2012 The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ SOLEMNITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI The mode of Christ's presence under the Eucharistic species is unique. It raises the Eucharist above all the sacraments as "the perfection of the spiritual life and the end to which all the sacraments tend." 201 In the most blessed sacrament of the Eucharist "the body and blood, together with the soul and divinity, of our Lord Jesus Christ and, therefore, the whole Christ is truly, really, and substantially contained." 202 "This presence is called 'real' - by which is not intended to exclude the other types of presence as if they could not be 'real' too, but because it is presence in the fullest sense: that is to say, it is a substantial presence by which Christ, God and man, makes himself wholly and entirely present." - Catechism of the Catholic Church #1374 WHY SHOULD I BELIEVE? 2 June 10, 2012 The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ MORE POWERFUL THAN EXORCISM: MASS & RECONCILIATION! Fr. Jose Antonia Fortea holds a PhD in exorcism. He has traveled the world consulting with exorcists, documenting their experiences, investigating cases of demonic possession, been given unrestricted access to many secret and sealed documents and attended countless exorcisms. In a DVD titled Interview with an Exorcist (released by St. Joseph communications, 2005) FR. Fortes plainly and emphatically states (and I paraphrase his content) - More important than the exorcism that takes the demon from the body of a person is the Sacrament of Confession that in a miraculous way, puts light into the soul and completely changes the soul of a person. And even more powerful and important than any exorcism is the power and grace offered to people in the redemptive act of God through the Eucharist. The divine, supernatural power in the Sacrament of the Mass are super spiritual weapons given by Christ to the Church to fight Satan. The Mass & Reconciliation (confession) are supernatural Sacramental gifts that offer the redemptive graces & power of God to: OVERCOME SINFUL HABITS RESIST SATAN & TEMPTATION The Solemnity of Corpus Christi reminds us of this awesome, powerful gift of God. If priest or recipient is in the state of unrepentant, deliberate, grave sin they are unable to receive the graces offered and might think that the Mass is a boring waste of time! If the priest is in a state of any sin the Sacrament still offers the redemptive graces intended but the more holy and worthily the priest & the recipient celebrate and participate in the Sacraments, the greater are the graces offered by God.
