The application instructions are listed below. All instructions must be completed and received by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee by April 15, I. Complete the College Missionary Application Form. II. III. IV. Complete the College Missionary Application Essays. Provide three (3) letters of reference speaking to your qualifications for the missionary program from: a. Your Current Pastor b. Lay Minister in the Catholic Church (i.e. Campus Minister, Youth Minister, etc.) c. Personal Reference (non-family member) Please include a copy of your baptismal certificate (issued within the last 6 months). V. Please complete the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Application for Employment. Please send all application materials to the address provided below. Letters of Reference must be sealed (or ed) and may be included in the application package or sent under separate cover directly by the individual providing the reference to Pete Burds. I held the following leadership roles in my college campus ministry program: I am currently or have been a Catholic seminarian, or in a religious community. 3 II. College Missionary Application Essays We wish to hear more about you and your life experience. Your candid answers to the following questions will help both you and the Archdiocese of Milwaukee examine your readiness to make the commitment to our college campus ministry programs and to carry out effective ministry. Please be sure to include your name and the title of the essay on each page of each document. Essay A: Autobiography Persons and experiences that helped shape who you are today: your personality, beliefs, and ideals. The strengths and weaknesses of your personality and how you have seen them affect your relationships. Three specific strengths and weakness you possess with relating with people. Other than church-related activities, what are your hobbies and interests? What do you plan on doing 10 years from now? Essay B: Personal Life and Faith Briefly describe how and when it was that you came to know Jesus in a more personal way. Give examples of how your life has changed through your relationship with Jesus. Describe your personal prayer life. Describe your life as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Please include devotions, your relationship with Scripture, Sacraments, Saints, Mary, etc. What does Christian community mean to you? How have you actively served the Church in the past? Essay C: Catholicism How do you describe your own experience with the Eucharist and the Sacrament of Reconciliation? What do you value most about the Catholic faith? What teachings of the Catholic Church do you find most difficult to embrace (if at all) and why? What are some things you would like to learn about the Catholic Church? Essay D: College Missionary Program What is the purpose of college campus ministry? What is evangelization? What is discipleship? Why are you interested in serving as a college missionary? How do you see that living as a college missionary will transform your faith? How do you hope to grow through being a missionary? III.
