PRAYER GUIDE THE GATHERING PLACE CHURCH WINTER 2017

WELCOME TO 21 DAYS OF PRAYER Sometimes it seems there are times when God is trying to get our attention. What if God is trying to get your attention? What if God is calling your name? What if God is trying to help you take a turn in life right now? In this 21 days of prayer and fasting, it is not only possible but probable that God will speak into your life and use this as a turning point. This season of prayer and fasting will be aided and accompanied by several tools in this document, including: a Biblical guide to fasting, different fasting options, and a prayer guide for each of the 21 days that includes a central Biblical passage, a brief devotional thought, reflection questions, and a prayer. We eagerly await what the Lord will do for us, in us, and through us during these very special 21 days. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people, and His incomparably great power for us who believe. 6 FASTING GUIDE What does the Bible teach about fasting? Biblical fasting involves abstaining from eating (and/or drinking) for spiritual purposes. In the Old Testament, Israel celebrated certain annual fasts, the most prominent being the Day of Atonement. There were also occasional fasts tied to specific historical events, sometimes individual and sometimes corporate. Here are a few of the occasions for fasting: at a time of grief (I Sam. 31:13; Nehemiah 1:4), at a time of repentance (I Sam 7:6; I Kings 21:27), as an expression of humility (Ezra 8:21; Psalm 69:10), and as an expression of a need for God s guidance and help. What all of these fasts share in common is that they were an expression of dependence on God. Several New Testament passages give us insight about fasting. Fasting teaches us that God s Word nourishes us: Matthew 4:1-4 records the only example of Jesus fasting, just prior to His being tempted in the wilderness. He faced temptation with these words, Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Jesus is quoting Deuteronomy 8:3-5 which talks about the 40 years Israel spent in the wilderness, depending daily on manna to sustain them. He says that God humbled them and let them be hungry in order to teach them to depend on God s Word to sustain them. By His example of fasting, Jesus reminds us that food alone can t sustain us. We need to be nourished by God s Word. Fasting teaches us that doing God s will sustains us: John 4:31-35 records Jesus encounter with the woman at the well. When the disciples return, they encourage Jesus to eat. He responds by saying, I have food to eat that you know not of. Then He adds, My food is to do the will of the Father. Again, Jesus reminds us that food alone is not enough. We are sustained by doing God s will. Fasting teaches us that Jesus Himself sustains us: In John 6:48-50 Jesus says, I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. We see this pictured symbolically in the bread and the cup of the Lord s Supper. Jesus is the source of eternal life. Fasting is feasting on Jesus. Jesus assumed that fasting would be a part of His disciple s spiritual life. In Matthew 6:16-18, He says, when you fast, not if you fast. He warns us not to fast to impress people, but to be near to the heart of God. What is the purpose of fasting? Fasting is designed to intensify our dependence on God by weakening our dependence on food and other things. How does it do that? Fasting reveals and heals our dependence on food (and other things) to fill the discomfort caused by low self-esteem, unfulfilling work, unloving relationships, uncontrollable circumstances, etc. It removes the false peace derived from the pleasure of eating. Richard Foster says, More than any other discipline, fasting reveals the things that control us. This is a wonderful benefit to the true disciple who longs to be transformed into the image of Jesus Christ. We cover up what is inside us with food and other good things, but as we fast our eyes our opened to those things in our lives that need surfacing. If pride controls us, it will be revealed almost immediately. David writes, I humbled my soul with fasting (Psalm 69:10). Anger, bitterness, jealousy, strife, fear if they are within us, they will surface during fasting DAYS OF PRAYER - THE GATHERING PLACE CHURCH

Fasting teaches us that we can go without getting what we want and survive. Fasting can free us from having to have what we want. Therefore, fasting can teach moderation or self-control, not only in relation to food, but in other areas as well. It teaches contentment. (I Timothy 6:6) Fasting expresses and deepens our hunger for God. Richard Foster says, Fasting reminds us that we are sustained by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. (Matt. 4:4). Food does not sustain us; God sustains us. In Christ, All things hold together (Colossians 1:17). Therefore, in experiences of fasting, we are abstaining from food or other activities and feasting on God s Word. Fasting must always, first and foremost, center on God. It must be about Him. Step 1: Clarify the purpose of your fast. Why are you fasting? Ask the Holy Spirit to clarify His leading and objectives for your prayer fast. This will enable you to pray more specifically and strategically. Fasting is God-led and God-initiated. That means that He fuels a desire to fast and pray. He loves it when we fast. Step 2: Specify the kind of fast you will do. Pray about the kind of fast you should undertake. Jesus implied that all of His followers should fast. (Matthew 6:16-18; 9:14-15) For Him, it was a matter of when believers would fast, not if they would do it. Before you fast, decide the following up front: How long will you - one meal, one day, one week, several weeks, certain days (beginners should start slowly, building up to longer fasts)? What type of fast does God want you to undertake? (discussed in the Types of Fasts section below.) What physical or social activities will you restrict? How much time each day will you devote to prayer and God s Word? Making these commitments ahead of time will help you sustain your fast when physical temptations and life s pressures tempt you to abandon it. Step 3: Prepare your heart, mind, and body for fasting. Fasting requires reasonable precautions. Consult your physician first, especially if you take prescription medication or have a chronic ailment. Some persons should never fast without professional supervision. Do not rush into your fast. Prepare your body. Eat smaller meals before starting a fast. Avoid high fat and sugary foods. Eating raw fruit and vegetables prior to your fast is helpful. Physical preparation makes the drastic change in your eating routine a little easier so that you can turn your full attention to the Lord in prayer. Prepare your heart and mind: Remember that God is your Father and He loves you and is for you. Confess every sin that the Holy Spirit calls to your remembrance and accept God s forgiveness (1 John 1:9). Seek forgiveness from all whom you have offended, and forgive all who has hurt you (Mark 11:25; Luke 11:4; 17:3,4). Make restitution as the Holy Spirit leads you. 21 DAYS OF PRAYER - FASTING GUIDE 6

Surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ (Romans 12:1, 2). Meditate on the attributes of God, His love, sovereignty, power, wisdom, faithfulness, grace, compassion, and others. (Psalm 48:9,10; 103:1-8, 11-13) Begin your time of fasting and prayer with an expectant heart. (Hebrews 11:6) Do not underestimate spiritual opposition. Satan sometimes intensifies the natural battle between body and spirit. (Galatians 5:16,17) Finally, and of deep importance, Jesus instructs us in Matthew to not let others know about your fasting. The strict details of your fast should not be something you constantly talk about to others. It should remain between you and God. Types of Fasts Now that we have explored the Old and New Testament teaching and instruction on fasting, we can proceed to discuss specific kinds of fasts. Let us begin with the helpful words of Richard Foster in his classic, Celebration of Discipline: As with all the Disciplines, a progression should be observed; it is wise to learn to walk well before we try to run. Biblical fasting almost always concerns food. Since the purpose of fasting, as we saw above, is to focus on God, to humble ourselves and to remind ourselves that we are sustained by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God, then the task in fasting is connecting our going without to hungering for God. This takes time, focus and prayer in itself. Please do not expect to be an expert at fasting right away. Fasting is a discipline that can take a very long time to understand well. Also, do not let this fact deter you or intimidate you. Fasting is not unlike a beautifully written masterpiece of literature. It is simple enough for a youth to understand and enjoy, and yet magnificently rich enough for the scholar to devote his/her entire life to. Choose to abstain from something like breads, sweets, sodas, coffee, or even red meat. Perhaps spend some time reading through Daniel s fast in Daniel chapter 1 and chapter 10. Stick to only fruits and vegetables like he did or something similar. Finally, determine the timing and duration of your fast and begin. You may choose to go without this specific type of food on only certain days like Fridays, or you may go without during the weekdays only or perhaps every day. This fast is 21 days (January 8-28) but that does not mean you must go without for all of the 21 days. Determine the timing and duration ahead of time and stick to it. Rather, pray through it DAYS OF PRAYER - THE GATHERING PLACE CHURCH

No Food Fast This kind of fast is more difficult but can be broken up by timing and duration. This seems to be the most prevalent of the fasts we see in the Bible. It is also the most intimidating, but refuse to let it scare you. Fasting from all food is not scary if you determine beforehand when you will do so and for how long. Here are some ideas. Start slowly. Begin with fasting for only a part of a day (lunch, or lunch and dinner). Do this for one day a week, or perhaps three days a week. You determine the timing and duration. Take a step of faith. Fasting is risky and involves our faith. Next, try fasting from food but not beverages. This means that according to your timing and duration, you would not eat any solid foods but only water, juices, smoothies, or perhaps simple soup broths. Do this for the first one or two weeks. Devote the time that you normally would eat to Scripture reading and prayer. Focus on Jesus statements about food. Next, try a 24-hour fast. This means that you get up and eat a good breakfast and drink only water or juice until the following breakfast the next day. Set aside specific time, during normal meal times if possible, to pray and seek God. Finally, you may progress to a two or three-day fast. For some, progression may lead to a multiday, even multi-week fast. But remember the purpose of your fast. Abstaining from Entertainment - Daniel 6:18 The king s voluntary fasting from entertainment in the time of Daniel helps us further understand yet another type of fast. Fasting from entertainment can be particularly helpful and accessible to kids and teens. Think of abstaining from television, ipods, video games, all reading except the Bible, music, texting, etc. for the duration of your fast. This can be a very powerful decision even as a supplement to food fasts. Choosing your fasting plan is a very personal decision. We are all at different places in our walk with God and our spirituality should never be a cause for comparison or competition. There is nothing more inherently spiritual about one type of fast as opposed to another. Your personal fast should present a level of challenge to it, but know your body, know your options, and most importantly, seek God in prayer about this and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do. It s also important to not let what you eat or do not eat become the focus of your fast. This is a time to disconnect enough with your regular patterns and habits in order to connect more closely to God. No matter what kind of fast you choose, or perhaps, you choose not to fast at all seek God with us in prayer. 21 DAYS OF PRAYER - FASTING GUIDE 8

Week 1 To Seek and Save the Lost For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. Luke 19:10

MODEL OF HARVEST PRAYER 1. Praise and Thanksgiving God, you are a God that can do the impossible. It is your power that heals the sick and raises the dead. I affirm that you are the God of many miracles and I take this moment to thank you for the most beautiful miracle of all, salvation. Thank you for loving me enough to pursue me even when I didn t know you. Thank you for giving us the most precious thing you had to offer in your Son, Jesus Christ. It is because of this sacrifice that I now live. 2. Recognize The Problem God I know that you are God of all, but we also know that there is a real enemy that seeks to kill, steal, and destroy our lives. I know that this enemy has blinded the eyes of the unbeliever so they cannot see your goodness. This enemy has manipulated and captivated lost people. I am asking in the Name of Jesus for their release from the world, flesh, and the enemy. We are persistent in asking because I know that it is your desire to see all of your children come home, but I also know that the enemy desires to bring resistance. (John 10:10, 2 Corinthians 4:3-4, 1 John 2:15-17) 3. Confirm Calling God you have commanded me (your disciples) to go and proclaim the good news, cast out demons, and heal the sick. In obedience, I have answered that call with a heart to please you and bring glory to your name. I ask that you use me to make more disciples in all the world, teaching them to love you. (Luke 10, Matthew 10:8, Matthew 28: 18-20) 4. Use Your Authority I now confirm and use the authority that you have given me through your Son, Jesus Christ. Your scripture says that I am to pray in His name. (John 14:13, John 15:16) 5. Claim The Kingdom In the Name of Jesus, let it be that enter into your Kingdom. I know that it is your desire for them to know You, Your grace, Your love, and Your mercy. Reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way so they may taste and see that the Lord is good. I claim victory over death in the life of. For it is by the blood of Christ that salvation may be received by all people. 6. Return To Praise Father you are Jehovah Tsidkenu, the One who brings our righteousness! I praise Your great Name! I thank you for Jesus, and I thank you for allowing me to be a part of what you are doing here and now. Bring glory to Your Name through our prayers. 21 DAYS OF PRAYER - WEEK 1 10

Monday, January 9 Who We Pray For: The Lost Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep. I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. Luke 15:4-7 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. John 6:39-40 Action: 1. Pray for open hearts to receive the message of the gospel. 2. Pray for open eyes to see the truth of God. 3. Pray for an open heart to depend on Jesus. Journal: DAYS OF PRAYER - THE GATHERING PLACE CHURCH

Tuesday, January 10 Why We Pray: Heaven & Hell Are Real For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:12-13 Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. As you go, proclaim this message: The kingdom of heaven has come near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give. Matthew 10:6-8 Action: 1. Pray for the same compassion Christ showed towards us. 2. Pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth of eternity through Scripture. 3. Pray for Godly sorrow. Journal: 21 DAYS OF PRAYER - WEEK 1 12

Wednesday, January 11 What to Pray For: Receptive Hearts Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times. Mark 4: 3-8 Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will. 2 Timothy 2:25-26 Action: 1. Pray for our own hearts to break for what breaks God s. 2. Pray for desire to share the gospel. 3. Pray for opportunity. Journal: DAYS OF PRAYER - THE GATHERING PLACE CHURCH

Thursday, January 12 When Do We Get Involved: Now When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Matthew 9:36-38 And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh. Romans 13:11-14 Action: 1. Pray for a sense of urgency. 2. Pray for the the harvest. 3. Pray for the workers. Journal: 21 DAYS OF PRAYER - WEEK 1 14

Friday, January 13 Where To See Opportunity: Community Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. Deuteronomy 11:18-20 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. 1 Peter 3:15 Action: 1. Pray for opportunity in our families. 2. Pray for opportunity in our workplace. 3. Pray for opportunity in our community. Journal: DAYS OF PRAYER - THE GATHERING PLACE CHURCH

Saturday, January 14 How To Pray With Purpose: Claim the Promise of the Heir But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3:26-29 Action: 1. Claim the lost by name for victory of salvation by the blood of Jesus. 2. Pray the lost will know their Identity and walk toward it. 3. Rebuke the lies of the enemy in their lives. Journal: 21 DAYS OF PRAYER - WEEK 1 16

17 21 DAYS OF PRAYER - THE GATHERING PLACE CHURCH

21 DAYS OF PRAYER - WEEK 1 18

Week 2 To Free the Captives The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. Isaiah 61:1-3

MODEL OF FREEDOM PRAYER 1. YOU: Praise and Thanksgiving God I praise you that you are the giver of all good things and desire for us to live in abundance. I thank you for the freedom you gave us through Jesus Christ that allows for that abundant life. Thank you that you have set us free TO something and not just OF something. God I praise Your Name, Deliverer, because I know that you desire for us to move from bondage to freedom. I ask right now by the power of your Holy Spirit that you would reveal any barriers. 2. THEM: Repentance God you are a God who forgives us when we have sinned and fallen short. I thank you for that gift of grace that you have freely given through Your Son, Jesus Christ. I ask that you forgive me for. I achknowledge that my sin hurt You, but am thankful You will remember it no more. (James 5:16) 3. THEM: Forgiveness God I ask that you reveal to me anything I may be holding onto in the area of unforgiveness and bitterness. I know that holding onto this bondage will only keep me from receiving as much of You as I desire. I release into your hands and remove my own. I know that what they did hurt me, and in turn hurt you, but I no longer desire to allow this situation or person to have power over my life. Just as you have freely given grace, I will not do the same. I forgive for. Thank you God for broken chains! (Matthew 6:14) 4. THEM: Surrender God, I am ready and willing to submit all of myself to You so that you can have Your way in my life. I know that I must submit to You in order to conquer the enemy that desires to ruin the freedom I so desperately desire. I am ready for my life to move from ordinary to extraordinary through the power of Your Holy Spirit. I ask that you come and rest on me so that I can continue my journey to continued freedom. 5. YOU: Return to Praise Holy Spirit, I thank you for moving in our lives and freeing us from the bondage of past and sin. I praise Your great Name! I thank you for Jesus, and I thank you for allowing me to be a part of what you are doing here and now. Bring glory to Your Name through our prayers. 21 DAYS OF PRAYER - WEEK 2 20

Monday, January 16 Who To Pray For: The Broken and Bound He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Pray for eyes to see broken relationships. 3. Pray for hearts to minister to the discouraged, oppressed, and depressed. Journal: DAYS OF PRAYER - THE GATHERING PLACE CHURCH

Tuesday, January 17 Why We Pray: Bondage Is a Spiritual Block But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:22-23 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36 Action: 1. Pray against the spirit of pride and put on surrender. 2. Pray against the spirit of offense and put on forgiveness. 3. Pray against the spirit of death and put on words of life. 4. 25 Thursday, January 19 When To Get Involved: Now My food, said Jesus, is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. Don t you have a saying, It s still four months until harvest? 27 Saturday, January 21 How To Pray With Purpose: Bring Light To the Darkness/Take Back What the Enemy Has Stolen In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16 David inquired of the Lord, Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them? Pursue them, he answered. You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue. David recovered everything the Amalekites had taken, including his two wives. Nothing was missing: young or old, boy or girl, plunder or anything else they had taken. David brought everything back. 1 Samuel 30:8, Action: 1. Pray for the light of Christ to expose darkness. 2. Pray for our own personal light to shine before men so they will glorify God. 3. 29 21 DAYS OF PRAYER - WEEK 2 28

Week 3 Week 3: Armor of God Preparing for Battle Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord s people. Ephesians 6:11-18

MODEL OF HEALING PRAYER 1. Praise and Thanksgiving God I thank you for your goodness and faithfulness. You are an amazing God who has poured out your Spirit upon this place. I acknowledge your presence. I thank you for the salvation that has come and, and praise you in advance for many other believers that will come to Jesus through me and this place. (Psalm 100:4) 2. Confirm Calling God you have commanded me (your disciple) to go and proclaim the good news, cast out demons, and heal the sick. In obedience, I have answered that call with a heart to please you and bring glory to your name. (Luke 10, Matthew 10:8) 3. Use Your Authority I now confirm and use the authority that you have given me through your Son, Jesus Christ. Your scripture says that I am to pray in His name. (John 14:13, John 15:16) 4. Speak to the Area of Need So In the Name of Jesus, I command all pain in body to be gone. I pray that any and all disease leave the body and ask that you restore to full health. Your scripture says that You make all things new. (Revelation 21:5) Please perform a creative miracle in body. We believe in your power and we lean into your supernatural healing, releasing our dependence upon ourselves and placing it on you. Use this miracle to bring glory to Your Name. 5. Return to Praise Father you are Jehovah Rapha, the promise keeping Healer! I praise Your great Name! I thank you for Jesus, and I thank you for allowing me to be a part of what you are doing here and now. Bring glory to Your Name through our prayers. 21 DAYS OF PRAYER - WEEK 3 30

Weapons of Warfare The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 The Name There is authority in the name of Jesus. [They] returned with joy and said, Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name. Luke 10:17 Prayers Father, Your Word says that no weapon formed against me shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Therefore I declare that no weapon formed against me prospers this day or any day to come in Jesus name. Your Word says that trouble will not arise a second time (Nahum 1:9). Therefore I declare that Satan cannot make trouble for me again, in this manner, as he did in the past in Jesus name. I declare all of these prayers accomplished and brought to pass by trusting you through faith and expectation in the name of Jesus. The Blood The shed blood of Jesus is the ultimate defeat of the enemy. They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. Revelation 12:11 21 DAYS OF PRAYER - APPENDIX 38

Prayers Lord Jesus, I confess to You all of my sins this day, yesterday and every day past. I repent and renounce them, those known and unknown, those of omission and commission, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do. I lay down at Your feet all of the sins of the flesh, the tongue, and of the heart, and all unholy thoughts and actions. Thank You, Lord, for shedding Your precious blood for me. This day and each and every day I ask for protection over my spouse; each of my children; our immediate family members, relatives, friends, and acquaintances; and lastly for myself. I also ask today for protection during all of our travels; for our provision, finances, possessions, health, safety, and welfare. I put all of these things under the covering of Your precious blood and declare that Satan cannot touch them, on this day or any day to come. The Word There is power in the Word of God. For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 Prayers I stand on Your Word. The enemy is driven out from before me, above me, around me, and below me; from my home, workplace, church and its ministries, children, and loved ones; from my works and labors, land, and my presence. I declare that he is not able to stand against me, and his works are taken captive and destroyed. No weapon formed against me will prosper, for the Spirit of the Lord shall raise a standard against them. I declare all of these things accomplished by Your Word. Jesus, my Lord, I give You thanksgiving, praise, glory, honor and worship for Your righteousness and holiness given to me by Your Word on my behalf DAYS OF PRAYER - THE GATHERING PLACE CHURCH

Satan, I command you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, to leave my presence with all your demons. I bring the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ between us. I resist all the endeavors of Satan and his wicked spirits to rob me of the will of God. I choose to be transformed by the renewing of my mind. FORGIVENESS PRAYER (Matthew 6:14, 15; Leviticus 19:18) Lord, I have a confession to make. I have not loved, but have resented certain people and have unforgiveness in my heart. 50 The Armor of God Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power PUT ON THE ARMOR OF GOD Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil s schemes. Stand firm then with the belt of truth buckled around your waist with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the Gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord s people. Ephesians 6: DAYS OF PRAYER - THE GATHERING PLACE CHURCH
