1 My Identity in Christ Who I am in Christ 1 1 I am a child of God John 1:12 But as many as received Him, He gave to them authority to become the children of God, to those who believe on His name, Romans 8:16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. 1John 3:1-3 Behold what manner of love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God. Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be. But we know that when He shall be revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 7 Colossians 3:10-21 God s great goal for me as His child is that I become like Him My identity is no longer in racial, religious, cultural or social ties Once I know who I am in Christ, God focuses on my character My character is developed in my relationships with others Love is the highest level of character development Having Christ living in me is the only way I can become like Him Who I am in Christ 7 Colossians 3:10 and having put on the new, having been renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, Colossians 3:11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, foreigner, Scythian, slave or freeman, but Christ is all things in all. Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender feelings of mercy, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering, Colossians 3:13 forbearing one another and forgiving yourselves, if anyone has a complaint against any. As Christ forgave you, so also you do. Colossians 3:14 And above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness. Colossians 3:15-17 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which you also are called in one body, and be thankful. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And everything, whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.

8 My home and family is where God works on me and my character Who I am in Christ 8 Colossians 3:18-22 Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as is becoming in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be bitter against them. Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord. Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they be discouraged. Slaves, obey your masters according to the flesh in all things; not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing God.
