5 Joy in Our Town Recently, we ve adopted a new Joy In Our Town format that highlights events and ministries that impact our local community. This month, we interviewed a number of guests who are doing their part to improve and enhance the community through hands on assistance, outreach, and fellowship. Pastor Taylor Wilkerson of Trinity Church Harlem interviewed Pastor Jimmy Jack, founder of Long Island Teen Challenge. Their mission is to provide youth, adults and families with an effective and comprehensive Christ-centered solutions to life-controlling drug and alcohol problems in order to become productive members of society. Rock the Block is the cutting edge, culturally relevant, urban evangelistic street ministry of Long Island Teen Challenge. Long Island Teen Challenge s residential care, which provides hope, healing and a future consists of 9 men s homes, 3 ladies homes, 2 churches and 10 vocational training programs.

He discussed Hope Day 2017, a fun, family-friendly block party in multiple neighborhoods where the community is served free of charge with health services, food, haircuts, and clothes. Pastor David Ham David Ham is the Associate Pastor of Times Square Church in NYC. Times Square Church places a big emphasis on community outreach & offers many services to those in need including Feed New York and the Raven Ministry for the homeless. Jordan Durso is the Executive Director of The Legacy Center Community Development Corporation. The Legacy Center works to see individuals change for life with services that fight poverty, feed the hungry, and educate the community. Jordan Durso
