P: We pray for those awash with tears, for those struggling with illness, depression and despair; for those who know hunger, war and oppression. Be their hope and comfort, gracious and loving God. P: We pray for those who know grief this day, who stand with loved ones on the threshold between life and death, who long for the good news of Easter to come, and come quickly

P: We pray for those of us who feel trapped, O God, trapped in our own tombs of fear, doubt and apathy; tombs of arrogant pride, or dull selfloathing. Roll away the stone. They say, Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are cut off completely.

21 12 Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: I am going to open your graves, and bring you up from your graves, O my people; and I will bring you back to the land of Israel. 13 And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves, and bring you up from your graves, O my people. 14 I will put my spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you on your own soil; then you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken and will act, says the LORD.

24 INVITATION A SERVICE OF WORD AND TABLE II Christ the Lord invites to his table all who love him, who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another.

25 Therefore, let us confess our sin before God and one another.

26 CONFESSION AND PARDON Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church.

27 We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy.

28 Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

29 Hear the good news: Christ died for us while we were yet sinners; that proves God s love toward us.

31 THANKSGIVING AND COMMUNION THE GREAT THANKSGIVING The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord.

32 Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise.

33 It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give thanks to you, Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
