For many children who grow up in a Christian home and attend church regularily, the answer may be obvious. But is it? How well do our children understand the Gospel message? Have we simply assumed they are saved because they are well-behaved and do the right things pray, read the Bible, memorize verses? How have we presented the ccept of justificati by faith ale? Do the children have the mistaken belief they are earning their salvati through good works and good behavior? How have we presented sanctificati? Do the children understand the importance of obedience to in the Christian life? There are many important questis we need to examine in regard to our children, but we often make two comm errors: The first error is that we assume our children have been presented with a clear explanati of salvati especially ccerning justificati and we then assume they have respded in belief simply because they know how to "talk the talk." often come to think that it is good behavior or legalism that makes somee a Christian. The secd error is that we present children with a watered-down gospel e to which it is easy to respd because it makes no demands and carries no life-changing effect. carefully steers children down the true, biblical road of the Gospel message. Being a Christian is not a "to do" or "d't do" list, but it is about having a real, heart-felt relatiship with a living and reigning Savior and Lord. The Christian life is about having as your heart's treasure and delight. This happens by grace ale, through faith ale, in ale. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of workds, so that no e may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ good works, which God prepared beehand, that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:8-0).
