O come, O come, Thou Lord of might, Who to Thy tribes, on Sinai s height, In ancient times did st give the Law, In cloud, and majesty and awe. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel.. Welcome: Mr Andrew Wilcock, Headteacher Second Reading: Reflection Come, Immanuel by Godfrey Rust Reader: Miss Stephanie Chrystie, Bishop Ramsey Staff Bishop Ramsey Combined Choir Night of Silence Congregation and Choir O Little Town of Bethlehem O little town of Bethlehem How still we see thee lie; Above thy deep and dreamless sleep The silent stars go by. Yet in thy dark streets shineth The everlasting Light. The hopes and fears of all the years Are met in thee tonight. For Christ is born of Mary And gathered all above. While mortals sleep, the angels keep Their watch of wondering love. O morning stars together Proclaim the holy birth, And praises sing to God the King And peace to men on earth.
How silently, how silently The wondrous gift is given! So God imparts to human hearts The blessings of his heaven. No ear may hear his coming, But in this world of sin, Where meek souls will receive him, still The dear Christ enters in. O holy Child of Bethlehem Descend to us, we pray; Cast out our sin and enter in Be born in us today. We hear the Christmas angels The great glad tidings tell, O come to us, abide with us, Our Lord Emmanuel. Third Reading : Luke 1:26-38 Reader: Kesia Wills, Year 13 Year 9 Singers Mary did you know Fourth Reading: Reflection Here stands a stranger, who is she? Andrew Pratt Reader: Elena Manchorova Year 8

O come let us adore Him, O come let us adore Him, O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord! Fifth Reading: Luke 2:1-20 Reader: Mr Steve Bristowe, Governor Congregation and Choir See him lying on a bed of straw See him lying on a bed of straw, A draughty stable with an open door; Mary cradling the babe she bore The Prince of glory is his name O now carry me to Bethlehem, To see the Lord appear to men; Just as poor as was the stable then, The Prince of glory when he came! Star of silver, sweep across the skies, Show where Jesus in the manger lies; Shepherds, swiftly from your stupor rise To see the saviour of the world! O now carry me to Bethlehem, To see the Lord appear to men; Just as poor as was the stable then, The Prince of glory when he came!
Angels, sing again the song you sang, Sing the glory of God s gracious plan; Sing that Bethlehem s little baby can Be the Saviour of us all. O now carry me to Bethlehem, To see the Lord appear to men; Just as poor as was the stable then, The Prince of glory when he came! Mine are riches, from your poverty, From your innocence eternity; Mine forgiveness by your death for me, Child of sorrow for my joy. O now carry me to Bethlehem, To see the Lord appear to men; Just as poor as was the stable then, The Prince of glory when he came! Sixth Reading: Reflection Harassed, Haunted Child of Mary Andrew Pratt Reader: Joshua Newton, Year 12 Bishop Ramsey Ensemble Trio of Carols Reflection Fr Chris Rankine, St Lawrence Church

Collect Mr Andrew Wilcock God our redeemer, Who prepared the Blessed Virgin Mary To be the Mother of your Son: Grant that, as she looked for his coming as our saviour, So we may be ready to greet him When he comes again as our judge; Who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One God, now and forever. Amen Blessing Fr Chris Rankine May God himself, the God of peace, make you perfect and holy; and keep you all safe and blameless, in spirit, soul and body, for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. And the blessing of God almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit be among you and remain with you always. God in peace to love and serve the Lord. In the name of Christ. Amen

Hail the heaven-born Prince of peace! Hail the Son of Righteousness! Light and life to all he brings risen with healing in his wings; mild he lays his glory by, born that man no more may die, born to raise the sons of earth, born to give them second birth. Hark the herald angels sing, Glory to the new-born King.

With thanks to Kit Owen, Organist (a former student of Bishop Ramsey) You are invited to stay after the service for refreshments, including mulled wine and mince pies, which will be served in the Church, with grateful thanks to the Friends of Bishop Ramsey.
