Explain what faith is. 2. Identify how to apply faith. 3. Explain how to build faith. 4. Discuss steps to operating in faith 5. Reflect the principles involved in the development of Faith. 6. Discuss the principles involved in the application of faith. 7. Explain the hindrances to faith. 8. Recall the principles involved in turning faith loose. National Competencies: Completion of this subject will meet the requirements of the following nationally recognised unit of competency: National Code CMT004 Competency Identifies new theological insights Learning Strategies: Class lecture and discussion. Group discussions and self testing in class. Written assessment and journal Multiple-choice and short answer work sheets 3
4 Assessment Strategies: All Assessment Sheets will be handed out by the lecturer at the completion of teaching the relevant areas of the course. Assessment Sheet 1 Due session 2 Worth 10% This assessment consists of multiple-choice and short answer questions, and may include a Bible reading and a memory verse. Students will be handed an assessment sheet to be completed at home after the Session, students are to use the Session notes given prior to class to answer questions. Assessment Sheet 2 Due session 3 Worth 10% This assessment consists of multiple-choice and short answer questions, and may include a Bible reading and a memory verse. Students will be handed an assessment sheet to be completed at home after the Session, students are to use the Session notes given prior to class to answer questions. Assessment Sheet 3 Due session 4 Worth 10% This assessment consists of multiple-choice and short answer questions, and may include a Bible reading and a memory verse. Students will be handed an assessment sheet to be completed at home after the Session, students are to use the Session notes given prior to class to answer questions. Assessment Sheet 4 (Option A) Due week 6 Worth 40% Write a mini book (2 4 pages) You are to write an informational / instructional mini-book on one of the following topics: What is faith? How to develop faith? How do I apply faith? What are the hindrances to faith? How can I turn my faith loose? (hand in week 7) Your mini book Should be written from your own perspective as a Christian and in line with your class notes. Your mini book should include a cover page, contents page, forward or introduction that somehow indicates who your target audience is. Only the words in the book are included in the word count, this means that the words in your cover page, contents page, forward are not included. 4

Assessment 5 Exam Due session 6 Worth 30% This (closed book) exam which is a mixture of multiple-choice and short answered questions, of which, all must be answered to satisfy accreditation requirements. 5

The force of faith resides in every believer Believing is acting What is the source of faith? 2 Developing faith Bible Faith is based on the Word of God and Christ in your life Faith works outside of prayer, in every realm of life Receive Jesus as the developer of your faith Releasing your faith Jesus, the apostle, and high priest of our confession 3 Application of the God kind of faith Applying faith is a decision Faith is a spiritual Law God s word produces faith Faith comes by hearing, not prayer and fasting 4 Hindrances to faith Six hindrances to faith 5 How do I turn my faith loose? How to release Faith More than just speaking words Faith will not work in the unforgiving heart There are four kinds of confession in the New Testament Learn what God promised Abraham Faith comes to whoever believes! 7 Assessment Guidelines (Summary): All written assessment items are to be presented according to guidelines outlined in the LTS Handbook and Orientation documents. The student must retain a copy of their assignment. Assessment in VET subjects is upgraded (some trainers may choose to give individual assessment item marks and/or an overall subject grade). To pass a subject participants must attend all planned classes and associated activities and achieve competency in all criteria associated with the subject. Late submission of assessment items will incur a late fee. Application for extensions must be received before the due date. Students should discuss any difficulty with completing assessment as soon as possible with the trainer. Re-assessment may be negotiated in some circumstances a re-assessment fee may be incurred. The Appeals process is outlined in the LTS Handbook. All assessment work should be the student s own work. Please refer to the LTS Handbook for the college policy on Plagiarism. It is the student s responsibility to be aware of all assessment policies as outlined in the LTS Handbook.
