Matthew 21:11 Life Point: Jesus was a real person. Sing Together To the tune of London Bridge sing: God sent Jesus to be born, To be born, to be born. God sent Jesus to be born; The angel told about Him. The angel talked to Mary, To Mary, To Mary. The angel talked to Mary, Yes, he did. You will have a baby boy, Baby boy, baby boy. You will have a baby Boy; Yes, you will. 5:00 and 9:15 3 s Pre-K Name Him Jesus Say the Life Verse Show children Matthew 21:11 in your Bible. Say aloud the verse. Direct children to stand on the first word, squat on the second word, and jump on the last. Children can wave their hands in the air as they say the reference. Have the children do those actions as you repeat the verse several times. Ask the children if they have any friends or relatives they need to pray for. Invite a few to pray and you pray at the end. Art Center: Baby Jesus Supplies provided: Preprinted sheet of manger, yellow and brown tissue paper pieces, Life Verse Strip. Allow them to decorate the picture. Glue the yellow or brown tissue paper to the manger for hay. Glue the Life Verse at the bottom. Mention that Mary was told by the Angel to call Him Jesus. Move and Listen Encourage kids to move as they listen to music. Tell them to freeze and listen carefully each time you stop the music. Give an action (hop on one foot, walk backward, spin, etc.) Remind them that Mary did what the angel said. Thank the parents for bringing their child to your class. Tell parents a positive experience their child had today.

Matthew 21:11 Life Point: Jesus was a real person Item 1: Teaching Pictures 3 s Pre K Kid s Activity Pages Move to Music Jesus is Real (Track1) Direct the children as they make their way to story time they are to leap each time they hear the word Jesus in the song. Tell the Bible Story Page 11 Open your Bible to Matthew, and show the teaching picture. Tell the preschoolers that the story is told in two books of the Bible. Guide them to listen for the words baby and angel as you tell the story. When they hear baby they are to touch their nose and touch their ears when they hear the word angel. Review Activity As they kids look at the teaching picture tell them you are going to tell things about the story. If they hear you say something wrong, they should sit down. If it s correct, they should stand. Art Center: Name Him Jesus Color Page Supplies Provided: One preprinted color sheet, Life Verse Strip, water colors sets, 4 plastic bowls. Give each child a sheet. Invite the kids to decorate the picture using water colors. But caution them on too much water. Show them how to mop up too much paint by dabbing picture with a tissue. Let them glue the Life Verse to the cone. Ring that Name Activity Supplies Provided: Kids Activity pages, 5 cups, 3 paper plates and a preprinted Jesus strip. Tip: Print individual letters of Jesus on the bottom end of cup. Cut the center out of 2 plates. Help each child complete the Activity Page as you prepare the game pieces. Mix up the cups placing them upside down on floor. Point to the letter J on the preprinted strip and guide the preschooler to toss the ring on the matching cup. Announce that it is time to straighten the room. Ask all the girls to put things away from the tables. Ask the boys to pick up items from the floor and either put them away or throw out trash. As parents arrive, greet them at the door and thank them for coming to church today. Thank God that Jesus is real and for sending Him for us.

4 5:00 p.m. and 9:15 a.m. 3 s Pre-K Jesus Calmed a Storm March 14 & 15, 2015 Unit 1, Lesson 2 Bible Story: Jesus Calmed the Storm Bible Story Passage: Mark 4:35-41; Luke 8:22-25 Life Verse: Tell others about Jesus. Mark 16:15 Item 2: Teaching Picture 3 s Pre K Kid s Activity Pages Move to Group Time Guide children to pretend to row (paddle) in a boat as they walk to group time. Lead them to alternate rowing on both sides of their bodies. Talk About the Bible Story Page BTH 5 Supplies provided: Teaching picture. Show the teaching picture. Open the Bible to Mark or Luke. Tell them that the Bible Story can be found in two Bible Books in the New Testament: Mark and Luke. Remind them of when they were rowing to story time. Tell them the Bible Story takes place in a boat. Sing Together To the tune of Mary had a Little Lamb sing: Jesus calmed the wind and waves, Wind and waves, wind and waves. Jesus calmed the wind and waves; Which people cannot do. Thank God for calming storms and loving us. Say the Life Verse Guide children to stand with a partner. Say aloud Mark 16:15. Lead preschoolers to repeat the verse a couple times. Challenge them to stand back to back and turn quickly to each other and say the verse. Give them the command to turn and say the verse. Comment that the helpers told people about Jesus and we can, too. Art Center: The storm Supplies provided: Construction paper, wave die-cut, sailboat die-cut, Life Verse. Allow each child to glue the wave and sailboat to the construction paper. Glue the Life Verse to bottom of construction paper. Ask for several volunteers to retell story. Use a color game to enlist the help of children to clean up the room. Everyone with blue on put away the blocks, everyone with red on make sure the puzzles are back in the holder, etc. Thank them for their help. Greet parents as they arrive. Thank each child for coming so you could tell the story of the storm that only Jesus could calm. Encourage them to come again.

Mark 16:15 Item 2: Teaching Picture 3 s Pre K Kid s Activity Pages Enjoy a Song Supplies Provided: circular blue plastic tablecloth TIP: bring tablecloth to story time. At circle time, sing Jesus Helped (track 4). Encourage the children to move their arms like waves. Guide them to move their waves slow and gentle and then fast and strong. Comment that today they will hear about a time when Jesus calmed very strong waves. Talk about the Bible Story- page 15 Show the teaching picture. Open your Bible to Mark. Point to the teaching picture as you tell the Bible story. Lead preschoolers to hold on to the blue tablecloth. Show them how to move the cloth to make waves. Ask questions about the story. Invite each child to answer questions and crawl under the waves to switch places with another child. thanking God that Jesus can do so many things we cannot. Review the Life Point page 15 Supplies Provided: One bean bag per class. Direct the kids to sit in a circle. Say the Life Point: Jesus did things people cannot do. Toss the bean bag to a child; repeat the Life Point. Art Center: Storm tossed boat. Supplies provided: One die-cut wave, one half paper plate, one sheet of construction paper, one jumbo craft stick. Children will fold just a portion of the bottom of paper, and glue the wave to the portion folded up. Cut a paper plate in half and glue the jumbo stick to the back of plate Glue the Bible Point to the half plate. Make a small slit for the stick so it looks like the boat is in the waves. Play a Game Activity page 17 Play Calm the Sea Tag. Choose a child to be it. Everyone will walk around the room pretending to be strong waves. Every time a child is tagged that child should lie on the ground like a calm wave. Play until everyone has been tagged. Tell the children when they hear the music that it will be time to stop playing and clean up toys. When they are finished, thank them for helping each other straighten the room.

Mark 16:15 Life Point: Jesus taught about God. Item 3: Teaching Picture Move to Group Time Invite the children to move to group time in slow motion. Talk about the Bible Story BTH Page 7 Supplies provided: Teaching picture. Invite the children to open your Bible marked with the bookmark at Mark 10. Comment that the Bible Story is from the New Testament Book of Mark. Tell the Bible Story. Sing a Song To the tune of Ring Around the Rosie. Jesus taught about God, Jesus taught about God; Jesus taught about God, Jesus taught, about God! Jesus said to not lie, Jesus said to not lie, Jesus said, Jesus said, do not lie, Say that praying is talking to God anywhere, about anything. Say the Life Verse BTH 8 Lead children to sit in a row. Whisper to the first child in the row each word of the verse, pausing between words for him to whisper the word to the child next to him. The last child in the row should say the words out loud. Art Center: Rich Young Ruler puppet Supplies provided: One lunch sack, preprinted sheet of puppet, and Life Verse strip. Give each child a preprinted sheet of puppet. Let them decorate the puppet. Glue the head on the top of the sack and the mouth under the flap. Glue the Life Verse to the bottom of the sack. Have all the children use their puppets to say the Life Verse. A Game Activity Explain that they will play a game like Duck, Duck Goose! But they will use these words: Jesus! Jesus! Taught! guide them to be kind and take turns as they play. Comment that Jesus taught about God. Assign a cleanup task for each child. Play music as they clean. Thank them for helping to clean God s house. Make sure children have gathered all of their personal belongings. Greet each parent. Distribute the Kid s Activity Page.

7 6:30 p.m., 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. 3 s Pre-K The Rich Young Ruler March 21 & 22, 2015 Unit 1, Lesson 3 Bible Story: The Rich Young Ruler Bible Story Passage: Mark 10:17-23, 27 Life Verse: Tell others about Jesus. Mark 16:15 Life Point: Jesus taught about God. Item3: Teaching Picture Play a Game at Group Time- (track 3) Lead children to sing Tell People Everywhere About Jesus (Track 3.) The first time, guide them to sing with happy faces. The second time with sad faces. Ask them to listen to learn if the man was happy or sad about Jesus taught. Talk about the Bible Story 19 Supplies provided: Teaching picture Open your Bible to Mark 10 and tell the story of the Rich young ruler. Make good eye contact with children as you tell the story. Emphasize that Jesus taught the people about God. Bounce or Roll a Verse Supplies provided: A ball Guide Children to bounce or roll a ball back and forth to each other. Each time the ball is bounced (rolled) lead the child to say one word of the Life verse. Remind each child that Jesus taught people about God. Thanking God that Jesus taught us about Him. Art Center: Treasure Chest Pre-cut treasure chest. Supplies provided: One sheet of construction paper, Preprinted sheet of chest (Lid and Chest) on card stock, Life Verse and small play coins. Encourage the children to decorate the chest with crayons and markers. Glue the small play money inside the chest. Let them glue the Life Verse to the bottom of the paper. As they work, mention that the rich young ruler loved the treasures more than following Jesus. Play and Move and Freeze Tell the preschoolers to move around the room. Play music while they move. Say, Freeze (and stop the music). Call on a child to remember something from the story. Start the music and let them move again. Continue moving and freezing as time allows. Play Nobody Else like Jesus (Track 12) as the children start to clean. Thank them for their help. Make sure the children have gathered all of their personal belongings. Greet each parent as they arrive. Distribute the Kid s Activity Page.

8 5:00 p.m. and 9:15 a.m. 3 s Pre-K People Welcomed Jesus March 28 & 29, 2015 Unit 1 Lesson 4 Palm Sunday Bible Story: Palm Sunday Story Bible Story Passage: Mark 11:1-11 Life Verse: This is Jesus. Matthew 21:11 Life Point: Jesus is worthy of our praise. Item 4: Teaching Picture Move to Group time Instruct the children to get on their donkeys and ride them to the group-time area. Talk about the Bible Story BTH Page 9 Supplies provided: Teaching picture. Display the teaching picture. Open your Bible to Mark 11, comment that today s story has the word Hosanna. Tell the children to listen and put one of their hands on their head when they hear the word. Tell the story in your own words. Learn the Life Verse Point in your Bible to Matthew 21:11 and say the Life Verse: This is Jesus. Matthew 21:11. Ask the children to say it with you. Say the verse again, clapping on each word. Repeat and clap again. Remember to include the Scripture reference each time the children say the Life Verse. Thank God for sending Jesus. Teacher Prep: Pre-cut donkey puppets Art Center: Donkey Puppet Supplies provided: Preprinted donkey, Life Verse strip, jumbo craft stick. Let the children color the donkey Let the children glue or staple the pre-cut donkey face on the top of the jumbo craft stick. Allow them to glue the Life Verse on the craft stick or the bottom of the donkey. Show the children the teaching picture and remind them that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. Parade and Sing Together Parades around the room as you sing to the tune Are You Sleeping? This is Jesus; this is Jesus; People said; people said. Hosanna! they praised Him; Hosanna! they praised Him. Children praised; children praised. Assign clean up tasks for the children. Thank the children for their help. As parents arrive, thank them for bringing (child) so you could learn about Palm Sunday. Remind them to take their Kids Activity Pages, their crafts home and their palm branch.

Matthew 21:11 Life Point: Jesus is worthy of our praise. Item 4: Teaching Picture People welcomed Jesus 3 s Pre K Kids Activity Pages Move to Group Time Supplies Provided: Crepe paper streamers per child. Give each child a streamer. Play a selection from the CD and encourage the children to stand and wave their streamers. Talk about the Bible Story Page 23 Supplies provided: Teaching picture (Item 4) Show the teaching picture. Open the Bible to Mark 11. Point to the teaching picture to show the children what happened when Jesus rode into Jerusalem. Mention that the people shouted happy words to Jesus as He rode by. Learn the Life Verse Page 23 Use the Bible Marker and hold it up. Guide children to wave their branches high and say the verse two times. Lead the children to pray and thank God for Jesus. Art Center: Make palm branches and sing about Jesus Supplies provided: One preprinted palm sheet per child, 1 jumbo craft stick per child, tissue paper pieces, Life Verse strip. Give each child a precut palm branch and let them glue the tissue paper to branch. Glue the Life verse to craft stick and staple the stick to the branch. Play a song about Jesus and lead them in a praise parade. Remind them to wave their palms. Kids Activity Page (page 24 of your teacher book) Teacher Tips: Directions for activity is on page 24 of your teacher book. Supplies provided: Kids Activity page, string, 7 spring type - clothes pins, tape, small stickers, green construction paper. Guide boys and girls to match the leaves to the clothespins by matching the stickers. When all are clipped, the word Hosanna shows. Encourage the kids to shout Hosanna! once the clothes pins are matched. Remark that the people shouted praises as Jesus rode into Jerusalem. Assign cleanup duties. Sing to the tune Row, Row, Row Your Boat : Clean, clean, clean up now, Everybody help! It s time to pick up all the toys. It s time to clean up now. Greet each parent at the door and invite them to bring their child to church next week to learn another wonderful story from the Bible.

10 April 4 & 5, 2015 Unit 1 Lesson 5 Easter Sunday Bible Story: Jesus Is Alive Bible Story Passage: Matthew 28:1-10 Life Verse: This is Jesus. Matthew 21:11 Life Point: Jesus is in heaven. Item 5: Teaching Picture Move to Group Time Encourage the children to say, Alive! Alive! Jesus is alive! as they move to group time. Guide them to speak softer and softer each time. Talk About the Bible Story BTH 11 Lay the teaching picture in front of you. Open the Bible to Matthew 28. Ask the children to name things that are alive. Comment that the people knew Jesus died and was placed in a tomb and a large stone was rolled in front of the entrance to the tomb. Challenge them to listen and learn why they said Alive! Jesus is Alive! as they moved to group time. Tell the story. Sing Together Use the tune Farmer in the Dell : Oh, Jesus is alive! Jesus is Alive! Jesus is in heaven; Oh Jesus is alive! 5:00 p.m. and 9:15 a.m. 3 s Pre-K Jesus Is Alive! Thank God for sending Jesus. Art Center: The Tomb Supplies Provided: Preprinted picture of the Bible and story strip, Life Verse strip. Show or help the children to cut a slit on the dotted lines. Let them color the preprinted sheets. Show them how to place the strip thru the slits and pull on one side. Repeat the process and have them retell the Easter story. Remind the children that Jesus died but now He is alive! Glue the Life Verse on the bottom of the preprinted sheet. Cover and Guess Game Gather a blanket and items from the room. Lay the items in a row. Invite preschoolers to look at the items. Cover them back up and direct the children to close their eyes. Switch two items and them uncover them. Invite the children to guess which items have been switched. Now cover the items and remove one item. Allow the children to guess which one is missing. Remind them that Jesus was not where the women thought he d be. Walk around the room and assign a task to each child. Play music as they clean. Thank each child for their help. Greet each parent and thank them for bringing their children to Bible Fellowship on this Easter morning. Invite them to return again for another Bible Story.

12 5:00 p.m. and 9:15 a.m. 3 s Pre-K Peter Told About Jesus April 11 & 12, 2015 Unit 1 Lesson 6 Bible Story: Peter Told About Jesus Bible Story Passage: Matthew 28:16-20; Acts 2:1-2, 6-11, 14, 22, Life Verse: Tell others about Jesus. Mark 16:15 Life Point: Jesus wants people to love Him. Item 6: Teaching Picture Move to Group Time Encourage the children to join you, one at a time, to make a human chain. Lead the chain to group time. Talk About the Bible Story Mention that the Bible Story involved many people from different places who spoke different languages. Encourage them to listen to what happened after a great wind blew in. Open the Bible to Acts 2 and tell the story. Sing Together Sing these words to the tune If You re Happy and You Know It : Clap your hands if you love Jesus, Clap your hands. (Clap, Clap) Clap your hands if you love Jesus, Clap your hands. (Clap, Clap) Clap your hands if you love Jesus, Clap your hands if you love Jesus, Clap your hands if you love Jesus, Clap your hands. (Clap, Clap) He is with me every day. (Now substitute stomp your feet) Ask God to help everyone to tell someone about Jesus. Say the Life Verse State the Life Verse. Invite the children to repeat it three times. Instruct them to squat low and whisper the verse. Lead them to slowly rise saying the verse. Art Center: Tongues of Fire Headband. Supplies provided: Two fire die-cuts per child, one headband strip per child, Life Verse strip. Invite the children to glue the two die cuts together but offset each other and glue/staple them to the headband. Glue the Life Verse on the Headband. Mention that people saw tongues of fire over each disciple. Play a Review Game Supplies provided: Bean bag Have the children stand in a circle at arm s length apart. Play music and invite them to pass a bean bag around the circle. Encourage them to pass the bag fast when the music is fast or slow when the music is slow. When the music stops, ask the child holding the bag to tell you one thing from the story. Clean Up and Dismiss Play music as the kids clean up and thank them for their help. Greet parents at the door. And thank them for coming.

13 April 11 & 12, 2015 Unit 1 Lesson 6 Bible Story: Peter Told About Jesus Bible Story Passage: Matthew 28:16-20; Acts 2:1-2, 6-11, 14, 22, Life Verse: Tell others about Jesus. Mark 16:15 Life Point: Jesus wants people to love Him. Item 6: Teaching Picture Sing and Move Sing Like Jesus (track 11). Quiz children about who can speak another language. Tell children that in today s story people heard some words in different languages. Tell the Bible Story Invite one child to open the Bible to Matthew and another to open another Bible to Acts. Comment that both books are from the New Testament. Guide children to follow your actions as you tell the Bible Story. Blow and sway for wind; count to 10 for many people; stand up for Peter stood; cup hand behind ear and sit down for listen. Kid s Activity Page Lead the preschoolers to complete the Kids Activity page. Mention that we can tell others about Jesus in many ways. Ask them what ways could we tell others about Jesus. Give hints and help get them started, share that some people can tell others through braille, cell phone, internet. Ask God to help each one to tell someone about Jesus. 6:30 p.m., 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. 3 s Pre-K Peter Told About Jesus Art Center: Winds of fire windsock Supplies provided: One red flame die-cut, piece of orange construction paper, red and yellow streamers and Life Verse Strip. Give each child a sheet of construction paper. Guide them to tape the streamers to the ends of construction paper. Let them glue the fame to the construction paper and roll to staple the sides together to make a windsock. Encourage preschoolers to remember that people heard a huge wind before the saw the fire over each person sharing the story of Jesus. Wrap It Up Encourage children to stand in place and wiggle their arms and bodies as if the wind is blowing. Children should move slowly to sit back down. Sing Tell People Everywhere (Track 3) to wrap up group time. Tell the children that when they hear the music they are to stop playing and clean up. Play Nobody Else Like Jesus. (Track 12) Greet each parent and check the security tag. Thank them for coming and encourage them to return next week. Help them gather the child s belongings.
