1 8:30 service February 17, 2019 Worshiping as a Family Corporate worship is for people of all ages, and presence of children is a gi8 to church. All are welcome here. Or op=ons for children include nursery (ages 8 weeks 2 years), cry room, and children s worship during sermon (ages 3 1st grade). Ushers or greeters can give you direc=ons. Jesus said, Let children come to me. (Mark 10:14)
2 Order of Worship Liturgist is Rev. Cole Lescher Themes and keywords: gratitude, love, prayer, grace Prelude STANDING (IF ABLE) God calls us to worship from Psalm 106:1; Ephesians 1:3 4 Praise LORD! Oh give thanks to LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Blessed be God and Far of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before founda=on of world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. Hallelujah! Amen! We praise God We Praise Thee, O God, Our Redeemer Text: Julia C. Cory 1902 Hymnal #16 Tune: Edward Kremser 1877 We pray for God to help us worship Pastor: SEATED Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! He died for us that we might live for him. God calls us to confess our sin from Psalm 139:2324 Almighty God, to you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hidden: Search us and know our hearts! Try us and know our thoughts! See if re be any grievous way in us, and lead us in way everlas=ng, that we may perfectly love you and one anor and honor your great name. page 1 Songs of worship are used with permission. CCLI #100150
3 We confess our sin Heavenly Far, you have made us your children by grace, adop=ng us in love to be your family. But we too withdraw from your church, leaving brors and sisters in need while we seek our own loves and longings in or places. You pursue us with relentless love to complete your good work of salva=on in us. But we are prone to abandon ors when y disappoint us and to shut ors out behind walls of anger, fear, and shame. Your affec=on for us never fails, even when we fail and sin. But we o@en let our wounds fester unforgiven, and we bear grudges that devour us with bieerness. Your love is hospitable, always drawing near to us. But we are too content to live at a distance from each or without opening our hearts and our lives so that ors can see us truly, know us deeply, and encourage work of your grace in us. Lord, have mercy on us. (silent prayers of confession) Far, in your gracious love, please forgive our lack of love for you and for ors. Pour your love into our hearts by your Holy Spirit so that our love may abound more and more with affec=on of Christ Jesus, with gra=tude for your faithful work in us, and with joy in pouring our lives into one anor in love in same way that you love us. STANDING (IF ABLE) God declares our forgiveness from Ephesians 2:47 But God, being rich in mercy, because of great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive toger with Christ by grace you have been saved and raised us up with him and seated us with him in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in coming ages he might show immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For all who have turned from sin in sorrow and look to God for mercy, this is God s gi8. In Jesus Christ, God loves you, God forgives you, God accepts you, and God rejoices over you as beloved daughters and sons. Hallelujah, Amen! page 2
