We long to feel your presence in this place and this hour. You send us out to spread peace, and we pick fights with our brothers and sisters in the world. You commission us to travel light in your name, and we bog ourselves down with possessions we cannot do without. You ask us to ease the burdens carried by others, and instead we add to them. Forgive us, patient God, as we name our sins in our hearts and hold them up in the light of your love.
