Section 2: Mission and ministry These questions all relate to the worshipping community in your church (es) and are informed by the new diocesan vision of Joining Together in the Transforming Mission of God. Q1: Where in your church (es) are you currently seeing growth and life in relation to each of the three main areas of the diocesan vision: a) Living Worship Giving God the glory and honour in our life together and out in the world. Worship that is vibrant, authentic, faithful, generous, creative, holistic. b) Growing Disciples Seeing more people become followers of Jesus, Seeing Jesus followers more humbly confident in their faith.

3 c) Seeking Justice Working for a fairer world for everyone both locally and globally, marked by God s justice. 5 Section 1 NOTES These notes may assist you in answering the questions Average Sunday attendance: The average attendance figure over the four week period in October during which regular worshippers are counted and returned to the diocese. You will see that one of the later questions asks for this same information but for the past few years to understand the trend in recent history. (The suggestion of 10 years is a maximum figure) Description of context: A brief description of context which might include a few bullet-points outlining factors such as social-demographic mix, character of area, significant areas of industrial or commercial activity and major transport links. Parish-owned buildings/rooms: Please list any additional buildings such as parish rooms or church halls. Some church buildings may include a hall or large community room which are separate from the main worshipping area. Please list these as well. List of other places of worship: Please list any other Christian churches located in your parish. Age profile: Please provide approximate figures to show how the average Sunday attendance in 2011 would be broken down into the suggested age ranges. We understand that this will only be a rough estimate! Current vision and priorities: For those parishes who have recently worked together on their vision and current key priorities we would like you to include a brief outline of the main points (e.g. a vision statement and main priorities for the next 3 years if you have them). Those unfamiliar with the new diocesan vision may find it helpful to read the summary from Bishop Paul s presentation at deanery synod on 17 th October Q2 realistic opportunities is intended to prevent us from writing a wish list! Please list two or three mission opportunities you have recognised and have considered (however briefly) about how you might implement them. Do not feel constrained by parish boundaries! Q3 concerning partnership is intended to highlight where the various parishes cooperate with other churches either in significant occasional events or in on-going projects. The partners may be ecumenical or with other Anglican churches. Please list the names of the church (or organisation) and an example of any significant ways you have cooperated in mission and ministry.
