WELCOME TO ST. JULIE S St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church is a parish that serves Newbury Park and surrounding communities in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. We are located in the heart of the Conejo Valley in the beautiful community of Newbury Park, CA. We are a loving community of more than 1,800 families who gather together each week to worship together in prayer and thanksgiving. Our mission is to enrich a faith community that grows spiritually through worship, lifelong education, fellowship and service. We currently have over 20 active ministries, including outreach ministries to Los Angeles, Mexico and Africa as well as serving the local community with the Meal and Winter Shelter Program, the Society of St.Vincent De Paul, the Knights of Columbus and Helping Hands. We have Religious Education programs for all ages 3 to adult ranging from Pray and Play to Adult Bible Study as well as fun-for-all social ministries including the OWLS and 80+ groups. For more information, please contact Claudia Nagatoshi at (805) Diaconate Formation Information Day On Sunday, October 14 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.at San Roque Parish, 3200 Calle Cedro, Santa Barbara, the Office of Diaconate Formation is hosting an information day for those who would like to inquire into the permanent diaconate. This is an opportunity to learn about the qualities of good applicants, requirements, the application process, and the diaconate formation program itself. Those attending will meet members of the formation staff, will have an opportunity to discuss their interest in the permanent diaconate, and the staff will be available for questions. The event is for married couples and single men. Wives are highly encouraged to attend. Thank you for supporting this ministry throughout the year. Our food pantry serves families and individuals locally, providing food staples and basic personal tolietries. Bishop Barron will be traveling to Rome this October and wants to hear directly from young adults as he prepares for the Synod on Young People. Mass, music, and lunch are included in the day. You can t police the behaviors of others around you, but you can avoid taking pictures of your own children in public, and posting photos online that give away the locations of your favorite parks and hangouts. America Needs Fatima Knights of Columbus Council #8072, in coordination with the America Needs Fatima organization, invites all families from parishes throughout the Conejo and Simi Valley to participate in our 2nd. Annual Family Rosary Rally, on Saturday, October 13th., at noon. Our Rally will be staged in front of the Planned Parenthood office on Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks (1200 W Hillcrest Thousand Oaks, CA 91320). We will process from the Walgreens parking lot, located at the intersection of Ventu- Park Road and Hillcrest Ave., down Hillcrest, to the Planned Parenthood office, where we will offer the Holy Rosary, hymns, and other prayers to end abortion. The rally is expected to conclude in 60 to 90 minutes, including the time it takes to travel to and from the Planned Parenthood location. The procession will assemble at 11:30 AM, at the Walgreens parking lot. Ample parking is available in that lot, the adjacent Walmart lot, and in the Ralph s shopping center across the street. Water will be provided for those who need it, as will folding chairs set up on the sidewalk in front of the Planned Parenthood office. There is no charge to participate. Ours is one of over 23,000 Public Square rallies that will be held concurrently at noon (local time), throughout the United States, on Saturday, October 13th.
