3 Fear and Stress and Brain Overwhelming stress occurs in those who are SPIRITUALLY UNDERDEVELOPED or defiled Exposure to trauma extremely fearful events and high levels of stress affect the developing brain, particularly in those areas involved in emotions and learning. The amygdala and the hippocampus are two brain structures involved in fear and traumatic stress. The amygdala detects (FEAR) whether a stimulus (person or event) is threatening and the hippocampus, the center of short-term memory, links the fear response to the threatening stimulus or event. These two brain structures also play an important role in the release of stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenalin influencing the capacity of the prefrontal cortex for regulating thought, emotions, and actions, as well as keeping information readily accessible during active learning. Those who are not walking in the Spirit and are allowing the carnal mind to have its way will be subject to living in overwhelming stress (from fear) The brain activates the "fight or flight response" and releases and over produces stress hormones (i.e. adrenaline, cortisol, Norepinephrine) this causes increased ANXIETY ( and its physical and emotional responses to the release of stress hormones) and many physical and mental problems (which become an open door to demonic spiritual problems). 3

4 GOD S ANSWER TO ANXIETY: (John 14:1, 26-27) Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. And the purses of heaven never get old or develop holes. Your treasure will be safe; no thief can steal it and no moth can destroy it... Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. NLT 4

5 Good Seed+Good Roots=Good Fruit But also Good Seed+Roots become Bad=Bad Fruit (Isa 60:21; 61:3-4) Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branches of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified...that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified... And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations. KJV Cutting off the problem roots often causes stress and instability All plants need water (WORD), oxygen (SPIRIT), and nutrients (RHEMA). These are most readily available near the soil (HEART) surface where precipitation infiltrates the soil and oxygen from the atmosphere diffuses into the porous soil (RECEPTIVE HEART). Most roots, therefore, especially the important, tiny, absorbing roots (understanding the many truths of a doctrine), proliferate (rapidly increase discernment) near the soil surface (not forgotten). The majority of a large tree s roots are in the upper 18"-24" of soil (not buried i.e. ignored or forgotten). When space is available, roots can spread (spreading the doctrines of Christ i.e. the true Gospel) Balance between the tree s crown top (HEAD i.e. place of discernment) and root system (BELIEF SYSTEM) is important for maintaining healthy trees. When roots (TRUE DOCTRINES) are damaged or lost (MISSING) for any reason, the imbalance creates stress. A tree usually has 7 major roots (FOUNDATIONAL DOCTRINES i.e. (Heb 6:1). Cutting or losing just one of them FROM the trunk (VINE i.e. the WORD or JESUS CHRIST) can remove up to 25 percent of the root system (foundation for stability i.e. weak sheep). In such situations, giving the tree extra water during summer dry periods (i.e. heat or stressful times of trials) and thinning the crown (casting down imaginations) may help to minimize decline. During temporary excavation, such as for utility installation or repair, significant root loss may result, but if the soil is replaced (a new heart is given) soon afterward, roots(right doctrines) can regenerate in the replaced soil (cause regeneration to occur) and recovery is more likely. Extra care (primarily watering) will be required for many years during the restoration of the lost (or missing) roots. 5

6 The third most common reason for failure of the trees to bear fruit is lack of, or poor, pollination (shared anointing by true servants (bees) of wisdom (honey). All flowers (spiritual fruit production) must be pollinated in order to form fruit consistently....for instance, apples and pears must be cross pollinated. Therefore, you must trees must be of different varieties if you want to produce fruit. Poor root establishment and slow root growth can limit canopy establishment in early years and increase the susceptibility of the root to environmental stress because of the small, shallow root systems. Root systems with few fibrous roots or dried root systems can slow shoot growth until an active root system can be formed. Replant disease can also limit the growth potential the orchard (body of Christ) through a combination of fungal pathogens and nematodes (false doctrine) that damage roots. Under conditions of stress where root growth slows down or stops, water and nutrient uptake will be limited.
