Some principles that guide the righteous family 2 Introduction Today, many are either ignorant of or openly reject God s law on marriage and family responsibilities Therefore, it is common for our society to redefine marriage and family duties based on relative sinful standards This has resulted in making families and society unstable Although sad, the Scriptures tell us this is Rom 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. Rom 1:21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. nothing new 3 4 Rom 1:22 Professing to be wise, they became fools Rom 1:23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. Rom 1:24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among Rom 1:25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. Rom 1:26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, them. 5 6

Introduction God s people have always been challenged to build righteous families in a wicked world No matter what our family situation is, we must learn and apply His Word to ourselves and teach others, especially children, to do the same 9 10 God Has Always Desired The Building of Righteous Families Gen 18:19 "For I have chosen him, so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing righteousness and justice, so that the LORD may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him." Eph 6:4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. 11 God Has Always Desired The Building of Righteous Families 2Ti 1:5 For I am mindful of the sincere faith within you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am sure that it is in you as well. 12

3 Ruling Principle of Life God has created all including humanity His purpose is for us to glorify Him through obedience to His Word He has created, designed and governs all primary relationships, government, His church and marriage and family Submission to God in all of our relationships is to be placed above submission to humanity 13 Ruling Principle of Life Ecc 12:13 The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. Ecc 12:14 For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil. 1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome. 14 Ruling Principle of Governments Rom 13:1 Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Rom 13:2 Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. Ruling Act 2:36 "Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ--this Jesus whom you crucified."
