All Diligence v. Very Eager NW - Steady application in business of any kind; constant effort to accomplish it was needful for me TFD - Having or showing keen interest, intense desire, or impatient expectancy. Jude 1:3 Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God's holy people. 3 Jude 5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. Jude 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord. will ~ want put you in remembrance ~ to remind you once ~ already having saved ~ delivered the ~ his afterward ~ later them ~ those that ~ who First Estate vs. Positions of Authority NW - In a general sense, fixedness; a fixed condition; TFD - Authority, from the Latin word auctoritas, means invention, advice, opinion, influence, or command which ~ who kept ~ did keep left ~ abandoned habitation ~ own home reserved ~ kept under ~ in in ~ bound with unto ~ for of ~ on 2011 'men' to 'individuals and people' = Gender Neutral Jude 5 Though you X already know all this, I want to remind you X that the Lord delivered his people out of XXX Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe adds the words 'at one time' Jude 6 And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their own home --these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for X judgment on the great Day own home ~ proper dwelling Jude 1:5 Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe. 4 Jude 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorr ha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. in like manner ~ In a similar way cities ~ towns about them ~ around over ~ up are set forth ~ serve for ~ as vengeance ~ punishment Jude 7 XX In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire. fornication being changed to sexual immorality loses the impact of the root word, 'ekporneuo' from which we get ' pornography' NW 1. The incontinence or lewdness of unmarried persons, male or female; also, the criminal conversation of a married man with an unmarried woman. 2. Adultery. Matt Incest. 1Cor Idolatry; a forsaking of the true God, and worshipping of idols. 2 Chr. 21. Rev. 19. Going after strange flesh (Barnes commentary) Perversion TFD - A sexual practice or act considered abnormal or deviant Margin: other. The reference seems to be to the unusual sin which, from the name Sodom, has been called sodomy. Again - (Social acceptance vs. God's law) Compare Rom_1:27. The meaning of the phrase going after is, that they were greatly addicted to this vice. The word strange, or other, refers to that which is contrary to nature. Doddridge, however, explains it, going after strange and detestable gratifications of their pampered and indulged flesh. Strange flesh vs. perversion TFD - sexual immorality - the evil ascribed to sexual acts that violate social conventions; (Social acceptance vs. God's law)

Jude 8 In the very same way, on the strength of their dreams these ungodly people pollute their own bodies, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings.
