G5 Assessment G5 Assessment As you reflect on the following questions, keep in mind this is an assessment designed to give yourself a pulse on your own spiritual health. Answering to any of the questions does not make you any less of a Christian. A answer will help you discover why at times God might feel distant or silent. In might be a growth area where the Holy Spirit is looking to help you grow. Use your answer as an opportunity to seek God and to call upon the Holy Spirit to help you grow. Answering to all the questions does not necessarily make you spiritually healthy or a mature Christian but will be a reflection or expression of your Christian life. Done in your own strength you will grow weary and fall into legalism. Done because of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in you, it will be a life giving reflection of a vibrant growing relationship with God. It is important that you answer honestly and be prepared to share your results with your Life Group. In areas where you have answered no, consider why it is a no and consider what steps you to take to move them to a yes. Get support from your Life group to hold you accountable to grow in those areas while being on guard for legalism and trying to perform in your own strength. Grace 1. I believe the God of the Bible is the only true God 2. I believe God has purpose in my life. 3. I believe I will inherit eternal life because of what Jesus has done, not by my works. 4. I believe I am respoonsible to share the gospel with my neighbor because Christ commanded me to.
5. I know my testimony/exchanged life story/ One story and know how to share it. 6. I know how to direct conversations toward Jesus and discuss spiritual things with people. 7. I have shared my One Story and how someone can exchange their life for the life of Jesus within the past 12 months. 8. I have a ONE Card with the names of people I am intentionally praying for the opportunity to share Jesus with. 9. I feel equipped to use tools to disciple someone new to their walk with Jesus in next steps. 10. I have led someone to exchange their life for the life of Jesus in the past 12 months. Growth 1. I read the Bible daily 2. I participate with a group of Christians who really know me and support me. 3. I believe the community of believers is Christ s body on earth. 4. I allow others to hold me accountable. 5. I am part of a Biblical Community group (Life Group)
6. I am intentional and consistent in pursuing intimacy with God through spiritual disciplines like daily Bible study, prayer, journaling, etc.? 7. I know the core doctrine of our church and am in agreement with them. 8. I have a spiritual mentor (Barnabas) in my life. 9. I have a spiritual accountability partner (Silas) in my life. 10. I have someone I am discipling and investing in spiritually (Timothy). Gifts 11. I know what my spiritual gifts are. 12. Others recognize and affirm my spiritual gifts and support my use of them 13. I am currently actively using my spiritual gifts within a ministry team or servant group at Grace Point. 14. I take responsibility to invest in developing my spiritual gifts.
15. I encourage others in exploring and stewarding their spiritual gifts regularly. Give 16. I currently give a Biblical tithe (10% proportionate to my gross income) to my church. 17. I give systematically, with a set frequency. 18. I make lifestyle sacrifices that I might participate in giving opportunities. 19. Giving of my financial resources is a priority and is something I do cheerfully with joy. 20. I feel equipped to manage my finances to give as I am called to Biblically and be responsible for my household. Strongly Agree Somewhat Agree Somewhat Disagree Strongly Disagree Go 21. I have served people outside of our church locally as an expression of mission in the past 12 months (a Local Go project via Grace Point or as a Life Group or with friends; Christian Hope Resource Center, Haven for Hope, Nursing Homes, Orphan/Widow projects, etc.). 22. I have participated in a "Global Go" (foreign mission trip) within the past 5 years.
Reflection In the chart below a step is defined as an experience we had or an action we took that either drew closer to Jesus or we found ourselves drifting from Jesus this year. As you reflect over the last year do you feel you have moved closer to Jesus or moved further from Jesus in your thoughts and actions? Why? 3 steps back 1 step back 1 step forward Stayed the same 2 steps back 2 steps forward 3 steps forward If you moved closer to Jesus, what experience or action did you take this year to move closer to Jesus? If you feel you have stepped back from Jesus, what barriers did you encounter that caused you to be further from Jesus? If you stayed the same or took a step back - What priorities need to change to take a step forward this year? If you took at least one-step forward - What will you do to continue to move closer and experience Jesus next year? Complete this sentence. When I find myself in difficult circumstances, I Complete this sentence. I feel closest to Jesus, when. Finally think about -What am I hearing from Jesus? -Who is Jesus calling me to be? -What is Jesus telling me to do?
