3 Opening Hymn Saturday Service: Holy is the Lord 8:30 a.m. Service: #443 Hosanna, Loud Hosanna 10:30 a.m. Service: How Great is Our God The Confession and Forgiveness P Pour out your heart to Him, C for God is our refuge. P O my people, C trust in Him at all times. P Let all that I am C wait quietly before God. (Silence for reflection and self-examination) C Most merciful God, we have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed; by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not sought Your refuge as we should. We have not trusted in You at all times. We do not always wait for Your guidance. For the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us. Amen. Absolution of Sins Hymn of Response Saturday Service: How Deep the Father s Love 8:30 a.m. Service: #605 Father Welcomes 10:30 a.m. Service: Lamb of God The Collect of the Day P Almighty and Everlasting God, You sent Your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, to take upon Himself our flesh and to suffer death upon the Cross. Mercifully grant that we may follow the example of His great humility and patience and be made partakers of His resurrection ; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God now and forever, C Amen 3
4 The Reading of God s Word: Ephesians 2:4-10 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ by grace you have been saved and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. R This is the Word of the Lord. C Thanks be to God. R The Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew, the 28th Chapter. C Glory to You, O Lord. The Gospel: Matthew 28:16-20 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." R This is the Gospel of the Lord. C Praise to You, O Christ. The Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not made, being 4
5 of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; Who for us and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary and was made man; and was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered, and was buried. And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures and ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. And He will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead; His kingdom will have no end. And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets. And I believe in one holy Christian and apostolic Church, I acknowledge one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins, and I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. Hymn of the Day 8:30 a.m. Service: #442 All Glory, Laud, and Honor The Message: No Cutting Corners, No Shortcuts Prayers of the Church P Lord, in Your Mercy C Hear our prayer! The Lord s Prayer Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
