First Conservative Baptist Church Old Saint Augustine Road Jacksonville FL We are faced with a growing movement in America to tear down all traditional values, especially any spiritual, moral, or ethical standards. This is designed to destroy our faith and cause doubt about the Divinity of JESUS, with the ultimate goal of nullifying the BIBLE as the word of GOD, the ONLY real TRUTH. Easter is laughed at, trivialized, and mocked. Now the bunny rabbit OR egg is supposedly the highest symbol of Easter?? Political correctness in our government controlled schools NOW forbids students from celebrating Easter or even mentioning it in class. Why? Because someone may be offended, since Easter is now a symbol of "some" religion. MARK 16:15 is the Summons of the Cross. This is the Command of the Lord Jesus to all believers. "And He (Jesus) said unto them (Jesus' disciples) Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." We as believers have a HOLY mandate, an ASSIGNMENT...What is it? 1. The Program Commanded..."GO" We can not just sit and be obedient to this command. It is our responsibility to reach others. It is a mandate NOT to build bigger buildings or grow greater ministries, but to go into all the world with the GOOD NEWS. Jesus arose, He is alive, and He lives today in our hearts. 2. The Personnel Charged..."YE GO"...We must recognize that the going is for every believer, individually. Not just the preacher, not just the vocational minister, not just the deacons, or the salaried personnel, not just the Sunday school teachers...but..."you" GO. Are we all obedient? 3. The Plan Commended..."INTO ALL THE WORLD"...It is NOT just for our small community or our city alone, but we are to reach out into the whole world. We are to be a witness wherever we are, in the stores, on the streets, in church, in school, at work, etc, starting at home and witnessing to the world. 4. The Proclamation Characterized..."PREACH THE GOSPEL"... No, this does not mean that we are to tell everyone to come to our church because we have brass baby beds in the nursery, or because we have a huge singles department from which to select a mate. We are to herald the gospel, good news, that JESUS IS ALIVE, HE IS RISEN and wants to save others. The good news is the death, burial, and the resurrection of JESUS. 5. The Priority Communicated..."TO EVERY CREATURE"... The Good news is not just for the rich; it is not just for the socially elite; it is not just for the people we identify with; the gospel is for every man, woman, boy and girl. Wherever we go whatever background, we MUST TELL THEM ABOUT JESUS. Jesus was crucified, He died, He was buried, BUT, HE AROSE... HE IS ALIVE... HE IS ALIVE... Tell everyone JESUS is alive TODAY!
