1. Mission: To proclaim the Gospel within the context of Revelation 14:6-12. The Trans-Orange Conference derives her identity and mission from the book of Revelation as it is expressed in the context of the three angels messages. This prophetic self-consciousness has awakened the TOC churches from her slumber and provided the impetus for the participation in reaching out to the world in different approaches in the grand work of warning the judgment bound people of this world of the imminent glorious Second coming of Jesus Christ. In the interest of fulfilling of this mission, the focus of the Trans-Orange Conference in this triennial ( ) has been redirected in winning and advancing the kingdom of God in its territory. This report covers the activities of the Conference Evangelist (CE) for this triennial. 2. Objectives To conduct campaigns on the un-entered areas of the Trans Orange Conference Target all missing members (backsliders) in all areas where we conduct evangelistic campaigns. Involve church members in various aspects of church life. To established at least five new churches in this triennial. To ensure that total membership involvement in the districts is realized. Enforce a culture of evangelism and mission driven conference. 3. Three pillars strategy: We summarized our strategy as it is stated below: 1. Evangelism explosion. 2. Reconciliation, Healing and Reclaiming Project. 3. Governance. 4. Introduction Let me state from the beginning that God has been good to us as a conference at large. Fires of evangelism have no ashes. There has been evangelism explosion in the Trans-Orange Conference in this triennial. Herewith I share evangelism report for the period of three years. Soul-winning would be a futile exercise without prayer. The campaign s prayer band team was organized beforehand-every Wednesday we have a group of prayer warriors who meet to fast and pray for the evangelism work in the conference. In every campaign conducted the time is set aside for prayer, deliverance and healing. All the places in the vicinity of the crusade that were conducted and done: high schools visited 46 includes 18 primary schools visited in three 2
years. On these above mentioned school s devotions were conducted in the morning and educators were motived. Prayer days were organized as a way of witnessing. The morning prayer at 4 am (open air preaching) has been adopted in our outreach programs for the success of `the campaign. The power of God helped us to gain strength to share the Gospel and prayers in the hospitals and in institutions e.g. (social developments and police stations) surrounding the areas where campaigns were conducted. Evangelism training had been done mostly in some of the churches that we had conducted evangelistic campaigns. The first training was held in the middle of the campaign and regularly on Sabbath afternoons (Tshepong training in November 2013). On the 29 th of March 2014, there was evangelism training in Bethal church-also done prior before the campaign was conducted. Training the new converts to share their faith is vitally important in a successful campaign. The training was done at Mohlakeng prior before the crusade; free literature was given to the newly baptized members to share their faith. Training was done at Devon in East rand zone 3. The purpose of the training was to equip the church and prepare for the campaign. Most of the time the training of the members was taking place during the campaign duration for the aim of strengthening the church in soul winning. 5. Evangelism Explosion 2013/ 2014!!! 5.1. Orange Vaal District (Tshepong for Jesus campaign) The crusade started on the 03 rd -24 th of November 2013.The prayer band was fully active from the beginning of the campaign. The campaign was successful, since the church had done a thorough pre-campaign in the area where the tent was pitched. We had a soup kitchen project every night for three weeks, where the community received refreshments, this was an initiative of the women ministries and Adventist men departments from Sebokeng zone seven. We have established a new branch in Tshepong in the Vaal district. We had a total number of 27 souls baptized on the 3
24th of November 2013.There was joy in the hearts of the believers when they had witnessed a new church in Tshepong. Sebokeng church has assigned a company leader to look after the growth of the new church over there Golden West District (Ottosdal for Jesus campaign) The campaign Ottosdal for Jesus started on the 23rd of February 2014, at Golden West district in the North West it was fueled by the distribution of the book of the year was distributed around the province. The pre-campaign was done by the district pastors and other members of the Golden West District just prior before the crusade began. We had a team of workers participating in preparation for the campaign. We had a family who had read a book WHEN GOD SAID REMMEMBER by Dr. Mark Finley. This family started to keep the Sabbath and had been tithing prior to the campaign. The campaign took two weeks, and it was a success. We had prayer and breakfast and a Pathfinder club was organized. Sixteen souls baptized. The district assigned a bible worker to monitor the new branch at Ottosdal Shiloh District (Vaal Water for Jesus campaign) The campaign started on the 31st of March 2014.The prayer band was organized by the district director. Every morning there were devotional sermons at 04h00 am every day during the campaign duration. Every Wednesday we had prayer and fasting and we had a night of deliverance. The campaign was planned for two weeks and it was a success, eighteen people were baptized God s final call- High Veld District, Bethal Campaign This campaign was held in High Veld, Bethal- the first evangelistic campaign in years held by the church there. This campaign started on the 21 st of April and lasted until the 10 th of May We took three weeks. Preparations and ground work was done prior to the start of this campaign. There were 26 VOP candidates who enrolled for 4
bible studies prior to the start of the campaign FIRES OF EVANGELISM HAVE NO ASHES!!! The ministers of the Sunday-keeping churches in Bethal have graduated with their VOP Bible Correspondence School lessons, and the whole village is astonished by this powerful program conducted by the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Each morning sermons were preached at 04h00, and the echoes of those messages are heard even today. Schools were visited. Some educators of some schools are part of the church today. There were 35 souls baptize. The new church has been established in extension SUMMARRY ( ) Conference Evangelists Report. 7 Number of Campaigns conducted in 2014: Evangelism Explosion Far west district Campaign (Vryburg for Jesus) being baptized. In 2015 our first campaign was held in the Far west in Far West, the aim of the project was to establish a new church there at extension 25. The campaigns objective was to establish a new church and to revive the church and to redirect the focus of the church in soul winning. The campaign started on the 1 st - 14 th March There was joy in the hearts of believers when we saw 25 souls 6.2. East rand zone 1 (God s Final Call Campaign) The campaign was held at extension 3, KwaThema. The campaign started on the 15th of March We had a group of women that were serving meals every night after the service. We had 100% attendance of the local church members. The main objective of the campaign was to establish a new church in that area. And the campaign was thoroughly prepared by the 7
hosting church. We experienced a total membership involvement that also added on the success of this campaign. There was joy in the hearts of men and women when they experienced 55 souls baptized at the end of two weeks Vhembe district Campaign (Makgatho for Jesus) The campaign started on the 3 rd until the 16th of May The campaign was on the western side of Makhado at Capricorn municipality. The campaign was in Vhembe district. Through my experience at Makgatho this was one of the most difficult crusade ever. The community speaks Sepedi and we had no interpreter. The area is an un-entered area. We had some challenges at Makgatho during the time of load shading in some of the areas in the country. We had three days without electricity the church was attending the sermons under car lights. Morning prayers have been done on the nearby schools. We had some young men who were assisting in preaching in the morning. The greatest miracle was to see a young pastor from Nazarene Church who dedicated his talent and his time to assist us with interpretation for two weeks. The LORD has been so gracious to us amidst of all the challenges; we had 19 souls baptized at the end of two weeks. The Lambs shelter was built there after two weeks campaign at Makgatho East Rand Campaign (Germiston for Jesus) We had four Campaigns at once. 8
These campaigns were conducted on the 14 th - 27 th June The main objective of these campaigns was to expand the churches around Germiston area. We had lay evangelist who were trained prior before the campaigns. We had total membership participation during these four campaigns. We had a total number of 44 souls baptized. And three new companies have been established which are: Marathon company, Elsburg company, and Dinwiddie company with a total membership of 80 people Swaziland campaign August 2015 Swaziland campaign started on the 15th of August We had conference bible workers who were fully involved prior before the actually campaign. We had a prayer band that was interceding for the campaign. We had missionary workers who were involved during the day doing visitation and inviting the community. There were days set for health expos and every evening there were assigned persons who were doing health presentations before the service began. Morning devotions were done on open air (mega phone) preaching at 4 am. We also had two days per week (Tuesday and Thursday) where we would visit the nearby prison. Bible studies were conducted with the inmates and preaching and teaching has been done as well. We had two pastors from Sunday churches who were also baptized. There was joy in the hearts of the believers when they witnessed over 50 people who took a stand to be baptized by the end of two weeks. 9
6.6. Margazon Campaign (High veld district) The campaign started on the 20th- 03rd October We had two months a pre-campaign prior before the campaign began. The ground was thoroughly prepared before the campaign. We had bible workers who were involved during the campaign. We had Pastor E.W Nkosi who had already accepted the Advent message and he came with over 50 church members who were ready for baptism prior before the campaign began. There was joy in the hearts of the believers when they witnessed 71 souls baptized after two weeks campaign Lichtenburg for Jesus Campaign (Mahikeng District) The campaign started on the 11 th -24 TH of October 2015.The prayer band was fully active prior before and during the campaign. Devotions were done in three schools around the area where church is situated. The community responded positively during the campaign. we had community singers who were participating in our evening services. Though we had some challenges due to the weather and forces of evil but we were able to overcome at the end. There was joy in the hearts of the believers when they experienced a baptism of 30 souls in Mahikeng. 10
6.8. East Rand zone 5(Germiston church) The end year revival was done at Germiston since I was the local pastor there. It was imperative for me to service the church before the year end. Through the power of Christ, we were able to close the year with 20 souls baptized. There was joy in the hearts of believers when they saw 20 souls taking the stand to walk with Christ CAMPAIGNS CONDUCTED IN 2015: Summary 1 st Quarter 80 2 nd Quarter 63 3 rd Quarter 50 4 th Quarter 121 TOTAL : Evangelism explosion in Seshego revival (Revelation of Hope) The revival started on the 24 th -30 th of January The objective of the revival was to prepare a church for the upcoming event that was rescheduled for the second term. It was one a week revival. We had set aside Wednesday for prayer and fasting. It was a night of deliverance. We visited homes during the revival week and prayers were 11
done in those homes and other centers around the area. We had total membership involvements in this revival. There was joy in the hearts of the believers when they witnessed 16 souls baptized Mohlakeng Campaign (The time is now!!!) The revival started on the 14 th -27 th of February We had a total number of over 50 VOP candidates that were enlisted prior before the campaign began. To contextualize the approach of the outreach program, we had woman ministries that were assisting the community with soup kitchen every evening after the service. We had fasting and prayer every Wednesday during the duration of the campaign. We had some challenges in the revival due to the weather condition. We thank the personal ministry leader and the church at large for making all possible means to make this campaign a success after a number of challenges we had. The church was prepared for this campaign. The evidence was seen when we closed the campaign with the number of souls that took a stand for baptism. The campaign was able to meet the objective of the church. We were able to baptized 16 souls at the end of two weeks. The church has witnessed the power of Christ when the church welcomed additional 3 souls who also took a decision to join the advent movement Mahikeng Campaign (Hope for six hundred) The campaign was organized by the conference and the district. It was a bombastic evangelism. The campaign was held at SIX HUNDRED area on the northern side of Mahikeng. The objective of the conference and the district were to establish a new church at Six Hundred. The motivation of the campaign was rekindled by the presence of the conference participating in the service that took place at Six Hundred in Since, then the plans were in place that Mahikeng must host a campaign. Apparently the community had no structure for worship, and the approach was different from other sites. We had an open air sermon at 5 am that was presented by Elder Macheoane. We visited some schools for morning devotions around the area. We started a soup kitchen every night after the sermon. We had prayer and fasting on Wednesdays. Hope for six hundred. There was joy in the hearts of the believers that came from all the corners of Six Hundred when we saw 20 souls taking a stand for baptism. 12
7.4. A Pastor was baptized in Mahikeng (Six Hundred) One of the greatest joys at Six Hundred was to witness a baptism of the former Pentecostal pastor who joined the advent movement. The church members discovered that a pastor was attending our revival at six hundred and is planning to unite with the Seventh - day Adventist church. The tension became worse when the pastor was baptized at the end of the campaign. We thank God that the Pastor is still finding joy of serving God at SIX Hundred and the church is growing through the participation of members that were baptized East Rand Zone 3 Devon!!! The campaign was organized by the local Pastor. The Personal Ministry leader of the Trans- Orange Conference encouraged the church to be involved on VOP enrollment. The church was fully prepared for the campaign. The pre-campaign was thoroughly done by the local members. The campaign started with a total number of thirty-five new visitors. We had fasting and prayer done by prayer band daily. We had school visitation and prayers were done in the homes and clinic nearby. We had soup kitchen done by local woman ministry every evening. We had a team of bible workers who were visiting people during the day. There was joy in the hearts of the believers when they witnessed 29 souls who took a stand to join the advent movement Diamond Heritage Campaign (Hope for Myra) We had two weeks campaign at Myra. The church was prepared for the campaign. The precampaign was done by local members and local pastors. We had fasting and prayer every Wednesday during the campaign. We had total membership involvement. The woman ministry department was serving meals for the whole duration of the campaign. Though the campaign was two weeks but the involvement of church members made the work to be simple for the smooth running of the 13
campaign. Though we had some challenges of the weather and the attendance. At last there was joy in the hearts of believers when we witnessed 13 souls taking a stand for baptism Fires of Evangelism have no ashes!!! The church experience thunder and rains during baptism. The tent was over flooded while we were baptizing. The joy was to see young and old taking a stand in baptism in such a weather condition. The church was thoroughly revived and there is joy in the hearts of the believers in Diamond heritage after the two weeks campaign done in the district Hope for Matsulu The campaign was held on the 26 th June-09 July 2016 at Matsulu. The campaign was well organized the pre-campaign was thoroughly done by the local church. The evidence of the work done by the local church was seen when we had more than 50 visitors who attended the campaign on day one. We distributed more than 50 bibles and 100 free literature and books over the duration of two weeks. The campaign was a success. There was joy in the hearts of the believers when they witnessed 36 souls baptized at Matsulu Hope for Intabazwe The campaign was held on the 31 st of July-13 th August 2016 at Intabazwe. The campaign was well organized by the local church; the pre-campaign was thoroughly done. The two weeks was fuel with the power of the Holy Spirit. Total membership involvement of the local church was realized. We had 17 souls baptized and 12 souls were left undecided by through the follow up program adopted by the church we are looking forward to the tremendous growth in few weeks to come. 14
Number of campaigns conducted in 2016: Overall baptism in 2016 Shiloh district 16 souls West rand district 16 souls Mahikeng district 20 souls East Rand district 29 souls Diamond Heritage13 Souls Low veld district 36 souls Free State district 17 souls Total Baptism 147souls 8. Challenges 1. The choice made by the churches when they plan for the sites where the tent should be pitched. 2. The challenges of pitching the tents far away from the people who should attend the meetings. 3. The challenges of the churches that requests for campaigns whereas there are no thoroughly pre-campaigns by the church members. 4. The concept of membership involvement during campaigns needs to be emphasized during trainings. 5. The churches who have un-entered areas around but still not able to reach out, still insist that campaigns must be in the sites closer to the existing churches or church buildings. 9. Recommendations 1. The Church leaders and pastors must work together in harmony with the Conference evangelist(s). 2. Churches must be fully equipped on how to nature new believers after the campaign. 3. The Evangelists must not be assigned to churches for pastoral work. 15
4. The conference to consider buying a pick-up Bakkie (branded) and trailer for evangelism. For I am with thee and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city. Acts 18:10 To all people and nation and kindred's and tongues the truth is to be proclaimed. The time has come for much aggressive work to be done in the cities, and all neglected, unworked fields.
