2 FE-111 finished up last weekend and it was a Holy Spirit filled weekend with 7 new brothers in Christ. God definitely showed up and showed up big for those 7 pilgrims and the 30+ men in the conference room and in the background. It was evident all throughout the weekend that God was there and God was in charge. The testimonies at closing were as powerful as ever which is a testament to what God did over the course of just 3 days. I expect God will be showing up next week at FE-112 for the 17 pilgrims we have for the Women s Walk to Emmaus. Please be in prayer for those pilgrims and the team. The list of the team and pilgrims are in the newsletter. If you have any agape for FE-112 either bring it to the Gathering or send it in with a team member. If you can, please try to come to one of the events of FE-112 and be the light of Jesus to the pilgrims of FE-112. Sponsor s Hour is Thursday night, Candlelight is Saturday night at 7:30pm, and Closing is at 4:00pm. On CLD behalf of the team of FE-112, they would love to see you. Just as importantly, they can feel your prayers so please be in prayer for the team and pilgrims. Although we still have one more walk to get through before closing out 2018, it isn t too early to start looking for pilgrims for the Spring Walks. The Spring walks will be led by Matt McBride and Debbie Snyder and are March for the men and April 4-7 for the women. You can add Matt, Debbie, and the pilgrims and teams of FE-113 and FE-114 to your prayer list as well let s get those prayers going up to Jesus for successful walks in the Spring as well. De Colores! Chris Campbell River Club Church FE-70, Table of Peter Pilgrim Applications We love our Pilgrims and ask that you make sure the pilgrim and sponsor pages are easily readable. II
3 As I write this article FE 111 has come to completion. What a joy it was both at Candlelight and at Closing the smiles and the energy from both the team and the seven pilgrims. To listen to the closing remarks from the seven pilgrims was a strong reminder that God is at work in the lives of people. I am always reminded after each walk that the Emmaus experience indeed changes lives because it certainly changed mine. I have teamed on many a walk and to see the emotion on the face of the pilgrims as they read their agape letters always brings a tear to my eyes. To see the looks of surprise on the face of the pilgrims as they see a sea of faces at candlelight again brings a tear to my eyes. I am convinced that heaven is going to be like an Emmaus weekend. Filled with great singing and the deep show of agape from Jesus, and of course great food, Heaven will truly be a wonderful place. Our thoughts and love now are focused on FE 112 with 17 pilgrims who have no idea what is in store for them. How exciting it will be when they begin to see the face of Jesus and see and feel the agape. It is my prayer that like many pilgrims before them that their lives will be totally transformed. I m counting on it. De Colores Brad Phillips TW 42 CSD Board Elections Per our community s by-laws our nominating committee has reached out to various members of the Fredericksburg Emmaus community to find candidates for the upcoming board election that will take place at the November gathering which starts at 4:00pm and is at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. For those unable to be at the November Gathering, we will be publishing an absentee ballot and distributing that via in October with instructions on how to submit those ballots. Per the by-laws if you would like to run for the board, you can also be added to the slate of candidates if you are present at the November gathering and are nominated from the floor and can be added to the ballot. You must be present at the November board meeting to accept the nomination to be added to the ballot if you are nominated in this manner. To serve as a board member you need to have attended a Fourth Day Follow-up Training (previously called a Deeper Day of Understanding) and have served on an Emmaus team. The current slate of candidates are: SD: Robin BeMiller, Robert Bumbrey Women: Ava Hanger, Mary Jenkins Men: Bob Pickett, Bob Harbick, John Blosser III
