2 Byron Adams Byron Adams (b. 1955) is a comoser, conductor, and musicologist. His essays have aeared in journals such as 19thCentury Music, The Musical Quarterly, Music and Letters, tentiethcentury music, and the John Donne Journal, and have been included in volumes such as The Cambridge Comanion to Elgar (2004), alt hitman and Modern Music (Garland, 2000) and Vaughan illiams Studies (Cambridge, 1996). In 2007, he as aointed scholarinresidence or the Bard Music estival, and edited Edard Elgar and His orld (rinceton, 2007). Adams music has been erormed at the 26th arsa Autumn International estival o Contemorary Music, the Leith Hill estival in England, the Conservatoire Américain in ontainebleau, rance (here he taught in the summer o 1992), and the Armenian hilharmonic Orchestra. A reciient o numerous aards and grants, he has had his scores rogrammed in America by such ensembles as the Syracuse Symhony, the est Virginia Symhony, and the Chautauqua Symhony Orchestra. Major commissions include the Variationes alchemisticae or Chamber Music alisades, Le Jardin rovençal or aciic Serenades, and Illuminations or iano commissioned by the distinguished ianist Armen Guzelimian.
