We are grateful you ve joined us and pray you will experience God s presence today. We invite all newcomers to take one of the red Welcome bags (available at each entrance) and to join us after the service for refreshments. Questions? Ask anyone wearing their nametag on a red lanyard. Children and youth are full participants in all our worship services at St Clement s and always welcome to sit with you, or play quietly in the designated children s space located in St. Margaret s Chapel. Every Sunday, we also offer excellent, staffed leadership in our Nursery, Children, and Youth ministries. Children and Youth enjoy their own dedicated programming during the first half of the service, joining the wider community at Communion, our family meal. Our youngest members may remain in the Nursery for the entire service. Nursery (ages 0-3): Located just up the stairs. Feel free to stay with your child until s/he feels comfortable. Children (JK-Grade 5): Located up the stairs in Canon Nicholson Hall. Junior Youth (Grades 6-8): meet in the sunroom with their leaders for discussion, activities and prayer. Senior Youth (Grades 9-12): meet in the youth room (up the stairs from Canon Nicholson Hall) for discussion and prayer.

The Two Great Commandments Our Lord Jesus Christ said: The first commandment is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is the only Lord. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbour as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Lord, have mercy upon us, and write both these your laws in our hearts. 3

May your people, illumined by your word and sacraments, shine with the radiance of his glory, that he may be known, worshipped, and obeyed to the ends of the earth; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. 7 The Creed Do you believe and trust in God the Father? I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. please stand Do you believe and trust in his Son Jesus Christ? I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. Do you believe and trust in the Holy Spirit? I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. Prayers of the Epiphany Season led by Louise Yearwood Please adopt the posture that puts you in the best position to talk to God, whether standing, sitting, or kneeling. In this season of Epiphany, when peoples from afar came to worship Jesus the Lord, let our prayer be as wide as the world. Let us pray to the Lord: Let the light of Christ shine on all people. That the light of Christ may shine on all nations, far and near, and that the Church may welcome them with the diversity of their cultures. Within the diversity of our own parish, we remember the following members in our cycle of prayer. Let us pray to the Lord: Let the light of Christ shine on all people. That in our day, justice may flourish and peace come to all the world, let us pray to the Lord: Let the light of Christ shine on all people. That God's people may hear the poor when they cry, have pity on the weak, and open their hearts and hands to the needy. We remember before God those on our hearts this day {silent and spoken prayers for those in any need, and those who have died} Let us pray to the Lord: Let the light of Christ shine on all people. That all who look, for a star or sign to guide them, may discover the goodness of the Lord in people full of faith and love, let us pray to the Lord: Let the light of Christ shine on all people. 7

8 That in our Christian communities we may learn, like the wise ones of old, to share the treasures of our goods and hearts, let us pray to the Lord: Let the light of Christ shine on all people. Lord our God, we rejoice that you have become near to us in Jesus your Son. Let him be the light of life now and for ever. Amen. 9 The Great Thanksgiving The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise. Blessed are you, gracious God, creator of heaven and earth; you have revealed your eternal plan of salvation, and have shown your Son Jesus Christ to be the light of all peoples. Therefore with angels and archangels, and with the whole company of heaven, we praise and magnify your glorious name, evermore praising you, and singing: Sanctus Hymnbook, 732 Almighty God, our heavenly Father, in your tender mercy you gave your only Son Jesus Christ to suffer death upon the cross for our redemption. He made there, by his once and for all offering of himself, a full, perfect, and sufficient sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. He instituted, and in his holy gospel commands us to continue, a perpetual memorial of his precious death until he comes again. Hear us, O merciful Father, we humbly pray, and grant that we who receive this bread and wine according to your Son Jesus Christ's holy institution, in remembrance of his death and passion, may be partakers of his most blessed body and blood. Accept through Jesus Christ, our great high priest, this our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving; and as we eat and drink these holy gifts, grant by the power of the lifegiving Spirit that we may be made one in your holy Church, and partakers of the body and blood of your Son, that he may dwell in us and we in him: Through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, by whom, and with whom, and in whom, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all honour and glory are yours, Almighty Father, world without end. Amen. The Lord s Prayer As our Saviour taught us, let us pray, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. The Communion baptized persons are welcome at Christ s table. If you do not wish to receive the wine, you may touch the base of the cup. Gluten-free wafers are available upon request. If you prefer to receive a blessing, please come forward and cross your arms. Prayer after Communion Jesus calls us here to meet him Jesus calls us here to meet him, as through word and song and prayer we affirm God's promised presence, where his people live and care. Come, my Light, my Feast, my Strength: such a light as shows a feast, such a feast as mends in length, such a strength as makes his guest. Come, my Joy, my Love, my Heart: such a joy as none can move, such a love as none can part, such a heart as joys in love. please stand God of glory, you nourish us with bread from heaven.
