Daughters of Jerusalem. are sung in Eastertide whether on a Feast of one Martyr or many Martyrs, and whether on a Feast of one Confessor or many Confessors, always with these words, Daughters of Jerusalem, come forth and behold the Martyr. and not the Martyrs. because the expression the Martyr. pertains to the Passion of Christ. The proper Prayer of the Feast if one be had ; otherwise : Prayer. H Earken unto thy people, O Lord, who pray to thee under the patronage of thy holy Apostle N. (Apostles N. and N.), that they ever being defended by thy help, may be able to serve thee in godly quietness.
