O God, whose Son Jesus is good shepherd of thy people: Grant that when we hear his voice we may know him who calleth us each by name, follow where he doth lead; who, with e Holy Spirit, liveth reigneth, one God, for ever ever. Amen. THE LESSONS Congregation seated Psalm 23 John Goss The Lord is my shepherd; rfore can I lack nothing. 2 He shall feed me in a green pasture lead me forth beside waters of comfort. 3 He shall convert my soul; bring me forth in paths of righteousness for his name s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through valley of shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod thy staff comfort me. 5 Thou shalt prepare a table before me, in presence of m that trouble me; thou hast anointed my head with oil my cup shall be full. 6 Surely thy lovingkindness mercy shall follow me all days of my life; I will dwell in house of Lord for ever. Glory be to Far to Son, to Holy Ghost, As it was in beginning, is now ever shall be, world without end. Amen. The First Lesson 1 Corinthians 12:1220,27 (p. 959) 12 For just as body is one has many members, all members of body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body Jews or Greeks, slaves or free all were made to drink of one Spirit. 14 For body does not consist of one member but of many. 15 If foot should say, Because I am not a h, I do not belong to body, that would not make it any less a part of body. 16 And if ear should say, Because I am not an eye, I do not. 5.

6 belong to body, that would not make it any less a part of body. 17 If whole body were an eye, where would be sense of hearing? If whole body were an ear, where would be sense of smell? 18 But as it is, God arranged members in body, each one of m, as he chose. 19 If all were a single member, where would body be? 20 As it is, re are many parts, yet one body. 27 Now you are body of Christ individually members of it. For in night in which he was betrayed, he took bread; when he had given thanks, he brake it, gave it to his disciples, saying, Take, eat, this is my Body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me. Likewise, after supper, he took cup; when he had given thanks, he gave it to m, saying, Drink ye all of this; for this is my Blood of New Testament, which is shed for you, for many, for remission of sins. Do this, as oft as ye shall drink it, in remembrance of me. Wherefore, O Lord heavenly Far, according to institution of thy dearly beloved Son our Savior Jesus Christ, we, thy humble servants, do celebrate make here before thy divine Majesty, with se thy holy gifts, which we now offer unto e, memorial thy Son hath commed us to make; having in remembrance his blessed passion precious death, his mighty resurrection glorious ascension; rendering unto e most hearty thanks for innumerable benefits procured unto us by same. And here we offer present unto e, O Lord, our selves, our souls bodies, to be a reasonable, holy, living sacrifice unto e; humbly beseeching e that we, all ors who shall be partakers of this Holy Communion, may worthily receive most precious Body Blood of thy Son Jesus Christ, be filled with thy grace heavenly benediction, made one body with him, that he may dwell in us, we in him.. 12.

For thine is kingdom, power, glory, for ever ever. Amen. THE BREAKING OF THE BREAD Celebrant: Alleluia. Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us. People: Therefore let us keep feast. Alleluia. All: We do not presume to come to this thy Table, O merciful Lord, trusting in our own righteousness, but in thy manifold great mercies. We are not worthy so much as to gar up crumbs under thy Table. 17 TODAY S MUSICAL OFFERING IN THE CHURCH Keep in touch with SJD Music at our blog: sjdmusic.wordpress.com. Today is Fourth Sunday of Easter, orwise known as Good Shepherd Sunday. The name comes from appointed gospel reading, taken from 10th chapter of John, where Christ is described as Good Shepherd who, by dying on cross, lays down his life for his sheep. The text of Renaissance motet by FrancoFlemish composer Orlo di Lasso, (sung at Introit at 9 am at Eucharist at 11), speaks directly of Good Shepherd: The good Shepherd has risen, he who laid down his life for his sheep, who, for his flock, deigned to die. Alleluia! The appointed psalm of day is Psalm 23, without a doubt one of most familiar passages of scripture. It is sung today to an intimate setting by English composer John Goss. You will note or references to Good Shepherd in prelude as well as many of hymns that we sing. Christina Georgina Rossetti was a prominent Victorian English poet who wrote a variety of romantic, devotional, children s poems. Her Christmas poems In Bleak Midwinter Love Came Down at Christmas both were set as Christmas Carols have become widely known continue to be arranged by many composers. She is also honored with a feast day on liturgical calendar of Anglican Church. At Offertory, we hear her poignant poem The Key as set by contemporary American composer Anthony Piccolo.. 17.
