Simpson, Jr. Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed He told them, Let us go on to the nearby villages that I may preach there also. For this purpose have I come. ~ Mark 1:35, 38 In today s Gospel reading we see a perfect example of stewardship. Jesus gives his time to do all that God wishes by healing the sick and preaching. But before he begins, Jesus makes time to be alone with God in prayer. It is through prayer, spending time with God, that we find the strength to do what he wishes for us to do. Be sure to find time every day to be with God. The Narrow Gate Continuing Education for Adults This week we will be exploring Mary Magdalene. As a diocese, we raised over $32 million in commitments from more than 16,600 donors, with more than $22 million paid. The major construction projects are completed, and Parish Share is our major focus. I am excited to announce that St. Michael the Archangel Parish is receiving their first installment of $75,856.17, which represents 20% of all payments received for the campaign to date. To date, more than $5 million from the Forward in Faith Campaign has been shared with our parishes for their designated projects. What a great way to kick off the new year! See you all there! Saturday Afternoon At The Movies Song of Bernadette Join the St. Michael Knights of Columbus for a movie on Saturday, February 10th at 1 in the parish center, room #3. There is no charge and refreshments will be served! ~ Saint Teresa of Calcutta Saint Vincent De Paul monthly food collection will be held next weekend. Place your donations in the receptacles at the doors of the church. (Remember, the barrels are now out every weekend for your convenience.) Canned meats, tuna fish, peanut butter, canned fruits, jelly, pasta, soups, canned vegetables, and powdered milk are much needed. You can call Deacon Beil ( ) and let him know that you are willing to distribute Holy Communion to the residents at Windsor Woods Rehab, on Mondays. We are in desperate need of someone who can help with this! Can you? SHOWERCHAIRS & WHEELCHAIRS ARE NEEDED If you happen to have a shower chair or wheelchair that is not being used any longer please consider donating it to St. Michael Parish.
