2 NOTICES Midweek Worship and Forthcoming Services St Mary s Care Centre Service The next St Mary s Care Centre Service will take place on Friday 6 th March starting at 11:30AM. Thursday Holy Communion Each Thursday morning we meet at St Nicholas for an informal Communion service, starting at 9:15AM. This is followed by Coffee Shop at the St Nicholas Centre. Children and Young People Next JAM Club Wednesday 3 rd March, at St. Mary s, after school until 5:00pm. For children in reception to school year 6. We are Children s University registered. Lent Lectures at the Cathedral 2015 Bishop Paul Bayes will give four lectures and opportunity for debate on the theme of the Good News of Jesus for us today. 4 Riding Lights Passion Play for Lent 2015 at St Matthew and St James Parish Church Mossley Hill on TUESDAY 3RD MARCH 7.30PM Tickets are 5.00 adults/ 3.00 concessions and under 18's free but it is not suitable for under 12's. Tickets are available to purchase from the Parish Office on On a dusty road leading to Jerusalem, a woman stumbles towards her judgement. Just weeks later, Jesus will take the same road, leading to the cross In Capernaum, the town they both call home, they are rejected. In the temple where they worship, they are condemned. The synagogue leader plots to destroy them both. Inheritance weaves the strands of the biblical Passion into a dramatic new narrative. It evokes the community where Jesus lived, the people who knew him best, the powers that brought him to execution. And in the shadow of the cross, it casts light on some of the women who Jesus stands alongside, sharing in their suffering. Echoing through time, it renews our expectations of the kingdom of heaven and who might share its inheritance. It is the Passion story in close-up: intense, intimate a piece of perfection (Church Times review) Inheritance is a communal experience of theatre and worship. The performance provides an opportunity to reflect on Christ s Passion and space for the audience to make their own response at the foot of the Cross. Annual service of prayer. 5 Lifecall: Children longing and belonging, March 17th pm Sir Giles Gilbert Scott Suite, Liverpool Cathedral. An evening for those with infertility who are longing for children and for those with space where children could belong through adoption or fostering and those supporting them, flyers are available for those interested in going Halewood Theatre Club presents... Two, One Act comedy plays: Mr Parker Passes Over and Housekeeper Wanted. Friday 20th and Sat 21st 7.30 pm at the Womens Institute Hall Baileys Lane. Refreshment during interval Doors open 6.30 Card Making Workshop - A Card Making workshop will be held at St Mary's Church on Saturday 28th March 2015 from Cost 10. If you would like further information, or want to book a place, please speak to either Carole Smets (St Mary's) or Linda West (St Nicholas') by 22nd March. There will also be a Table Sale (plants, cakes, gifts etc.) on the Saturday. All proceeds to St Mary's Church Funds. Thank you Saturday Coffee@ St Mary's is open for business from 10.30am 1.30pm every Saturday. We are always looking for more people to add to our rota, working either ; or better still all day. We also need cakes every week so if anyone would care to bake for us that would be great too, just let me know in advance so we don't double up.
