Deacon: For Metropolitan Paul, Archbishop John, and for their quick release from captivity and safe return, let us pray to the Lord. Choir: Lord, have mercy. During the Little Entrance, chant the Resurrectional Apolytikion. The Eisodikon (Entrance Hymn) is O come, let us worship save us, O Son of God, Who art risen from the dead After the Little Entrance, chant the apolytikia in the following order: RESURRECTIONAL APOLYTIKION IN TONE ONE While the stone was sealed by the Jews, and the soldiers were guarding Thy most pure body, Thou didst arise on the third day, O Savior, granting life to the world. For which cause the heavenly powers cried aloud unto Thee, O giver of life. Glory to Thy Resurrection O Christ, glory to Thy kingdom, glory to Thy providence, O Thou Who alone art the lover of mankind. APOLYTIKION OF ST. MOSES THE ETHIOPIAN IN TONE ONE Thou didst prove to be a citizen of the desert, an angel in the flesh, and a wonderworker, O Moses, our God-bearing Father. By fasting, vigil, and prayer thou didst obtain heavenly gifts, and thou healest the sick and the souls of them that have recourse to thee with faith. Glory to Him that hath given thee strength. Glory to Him that hath crowned thee. Glory to Him that worketh healings for all through thee.

3 APOLYTIKION OF ST. ANTHONY THE GREAT Thou didst become like the zealous Elijah in his condition, and followed John the Baptist in his upright ways. Becoming a dweller in the wilderness, and an establisher of the universe by thy prayer O Father Anthony. Wherefore intercede thou with Christ our God to save our souls. KONTAKION OF THE NATIVITY OF THE THEOTOKOS IN TONE FOUR By thy holy nativity, O pure one, Joachim and Anna were delivered from the reproach of barrenness; and Adam and Eve were delivered from the corruption of death; thy people do celebrate it, having been saved from the stain of iniquity, crying unto thee: The barren doth give birth to the Theotokos, who nourisheth our life. THE EPISTLE (For the Tenth Sunday after Pentecost) Let Thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us. Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous. The Reading from the First Epistle of St. Paul to the Corinthians. (4:9-16) Brethren, God has exhibited us Apostles as last of all, like men sentenced to death; because we have become a spectacle to the world, to angels and to men. We are fools for Christ s sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute. To the present hour we hunger and thirst, we are ill clad and buffeted and homeless; and we labor, working with our own hands. When reviled, we bless; when persecuted, we endure; when slandered, we try to conciliate; we have become, and are now, as the refuse of the world, the off scouring of all things. I do not write this to make you ashamed, but to admonish you as my beloved children. For though you have countless guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the Gospel. I urge you, then, be imitators of me. THE GOSPEL (For the Tenth Sunday of Matthew) The Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew. (17:14-23) At that time, a man came up to Jesus and kneeling before Him said, Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and he suffers terribly; for often he falls into the fire, and often into the water. And I brought him to Thy disciples, and they could not heal him. And Jesus answered, O faithless and perverse generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to me. And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon came out of him, and the boy was cured instantly. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, Why could we not cast it out? Jesus said to them, Because you have no faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. This kind never comes out except by prayer and fasting. As they were traveling together through Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of man is to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill Him, and He will rise on the third day. ~ The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom continues as usual. THE DISMISSAL Priest: May He Who rose from the dead, Christ our true God, through the intercessions of His allimmaculate and all-blameless holy Mother; by the might of the Precious and Life-giving Cross; by the protection of the honorable Bodiless Powers of Heaven; at the supplication of the honorable, glorious Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist John; of the holy, glorious and all-laudable apostles; of our father among the saints, John Chrysostom, archbishop of Constantinople, whose Divine Liturgy we have now celebrated; of the holy, glorious and right-victorious Martyrs; of our venerable and Godbearing Fathers; of Saint N., the patron and protector of this holy community; of the holy and righteous ancestors of God, Joachim and Anna; of our Righteous Father Moses of Ethiopia; Martyrs Diomedes, Damon and Laurence; and Martyr Susanna of Georgia, whose memory we celebrate today; of the Venerable Job of Pochaev, as we celebrate the uncovering of his relics on this day, and of all the saints: have mercy on us and save us, forasmuch as He is good and loveth mankind. Beloved in Christ: 10th SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST Glory to Jesus Christ for all His gifts that He bestows upon us, we as the family of St. Anthony are so blessed to have what we have in our parish. Since we bought our property things have been moving well, at the same time we have to maintain Our church buildings. We need your support, please contribute as much as you can toward the church keep up and meeting our obligations. Every penny counts, we can t depend on outsiders to take care of our home. From St. Nikolai's homily (Homilies, Volume 2, pg 95) refers on this: The following Sunday's gospel on the healing of the epileptic boy and which reminds us of the spiritual battle that we are in. May we, by the prayers and example of the Virgin Mary be victorious in this unseen warfare! Buy a 12" by 14" to 14" x 17" cotton or lightweight canvas bag with cloth handles (please, no reusable shopping bags or backpacks) and fill it with the following items: One pair of blunt metal scissors (rounded tip) Three 70-count spiral or tape-bound notebooks of 8" x 10-1/2" ruled paper totaling sheets. Please do not provide loose-leaf or filler paper. One 30-centimeter ruler (12") One hand-held pencil sharpener Six new pencils with erasers One large eraser, 2-1/2" One box of 24 crayons (only 24) It will cost about $2-$3 per kit to cover the cost of shipping to the warehouse.

8 ABOUT COMMUNION We are happy that you have joined us today. Indeed, we pray for the unity of the Faith for the day when all of Christianity are united as ONE and can share a common Chalice. However, this is not the case as yet. The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion) is offered only to Orthodox Christians who are in complete harmony with the Faith and prepared themselves through fasting and prayer. We hope that you do understand and if you have questions or wish to embrace the Orthodox Christian Faith, please talk with Father Elia. If you are a guest or otherwise not a regular communicant, please give your baptismal name when receiving. If you wish, feel free to share the Antidoran with those around you not taking communion.
