In our Ash Wednesday worship service this week, we are reminded to make a U-Turn, turning away from our sins and turning back to God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Lenten Wednesday services will be held at 10:00 am, 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Our guest Preacher for the five Lenten Wednesday services will be Seminarian Jaime Larson-McCloone. Jaime is in a first-year seminarian at Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota in the Distributive Learning program. Jaime continues to work at Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church on Center Street in Milwaukee as Director of Communications as well as being a full-time student. She is a newspaper journalist by trade, educated here in Wisconsin. Jaime has more than a decade of experience as a reporter and editor. She and her husband are originally from Minnesota and returned to the Midwest in 2011 to be closer to their families. They have one cat, Kenly, and live in Wauwatosa. First Communion Information for 2nd-6th Grades You and your 3 rd -6 th -grade child are invited to attend two classes to prepare them to receive their First Holy Communion. Classes will explain the gift of communion at an age appropriate level. First Communion can be celebrated on Maundy Thursday, April 18 at the 5:00 or 7:00 pm worship services. 2 ANNOUNCEMENTS & REMINDERS LARCUM Concert TODAY All are welcome to the LARCUM concert at 3:00 pm at St. Marys Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls. The theme for this year s concert is The Church s One Foundation. Preschool Rummage Sale...March 9 from 8:00 am -1:00 pm The Holy Cross Preschool Board will again be hosting their annual Rummage/Bake Sale. They would appreciate any gently used items that you no longer need. You may drop off your donations in room 109. Holy Cross Preschool Our Preschool offers 2, 3, or 5 day a week options for 3K and 4K from 9:00 am-12:00 pm. Preschoolers learn best through play and exploration. Academic readiness skills are strengthened through developmentally appropriate activities. Registration is taking place now. High School Mississippi River Houseboat Trip This summer high school students are invited on a memorymaking journey down the Mississippi River on a 12 person houseboat! Along with Pastor Drew & Pastor Sara, you will explore the dunes, swim, slide, boat, laugh, and play in the beauty of God s amazing creation! Enjoy campfires and Bible study on the sandbars as well as intentional communitybuilding activities. This summer s adventure is coordinated with Sugar Creek Bible Camp in Ferryville, Wisconsin. The camp will serve as our home base when we are not out on the river. Our summer adventure is open to all current 8th grade through high school students. Space is limited, and we only have a short window of opportunity to secure two houseboats, so please register right away. Registration forms can be found outside the youth room.
