3 DOK Come & See The Mary and Martha Chapter of The Order of the Daughters of the King would like to invite any women who might be interested in learning more about the order to Come & See by joining us at our meeting on Thursday, May 11 at 5:30 in St. Benedict. We ll have a short program, discuss a little business, and have refreshments. Retirement Gift for Father Chuck We have begun taking donations for Fr. Chuck s retirement gift. Checks should be made payable to St. Mary s with notation on the memo line: For Fr. Chuck. Please be aware that any contributions given for this cause cannot be listed on parishioner s giving statements because that would cause the gift to the priest to be taxable. Large Vases Needed ECW Salad Luncheon Tuesday, May 9 The annual end of the year ECW Salad Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, May 9 at 11:30 am in the Cloister. The lunch will be served at noon. Please bring a salad to share! The Church office is in need of large vases. They are used to make bouquets for the sick or infirm from the altar flowers. At present, we have plenty of the single bud vase size. If you have any of the bigger ones to share, please bring them to the office. 3

Through United Thank Offering, men, women, and children nurture the habit of giving daily thanks to God. These prayers of thanksgiving start when we recognize and name our many daily blessings. Those who participate in UTO discover that thankfulness leads to generosity. United Thank Offering is entrusted to promote thank offerings, to receive the offerings, and to distribute the UTO monies to support mission and ministry throughout The Episcopal Church and in invited Provinces of the Anglican Communion in the developing world. It s easy to participate: notice the good things that happen each day. Give thanks to God for your blessings. Make an offering for each bless ing. Every penny, nickel, dime, quarter, and dollar offered in thanks through united thank offering is given to God s mission in the world. Every coin and bill transforms lives in the United States and around the world. Your blessings become blessings for others! A UTO Prayer Source of all creation, all love, all true joy, accept we pray these outward signs of our profound and continuing thankfulness for all of life. Amen. ASCENSION DAY Mass on the Grass and Fish Fry Thursday, May 25 Service 6:00 pm - Feast Immediately following. While he was blessing them, he withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven. Luke 24:51 St. Mary s will supply the fish, french fries, hush puppies, and drinks. Parishioners please bring side dishes to go with the meal and desserts that are finger friendly. Food will be served outside. Parishioners may choose to eat in the Parish Hall if it is too hot outside. 6
