3 3 LITURGY OF THE WORD FIRST READING SIT After the reading: The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. RESPONSORIAL PSALM PSALM 145 Cantor, then all. J. Robert Carroll SECOND READING After the reading: The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. GOSPEL ACCLAMATION Cantor, then all. Fintan O Carroll GOSPEL HOMILY SIT Before the gospel: The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. A reading from the holy Gospel according to N. Glory to you, O Lord. After the reading: The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. PROFESSION OF FAITH I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, (BOW) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. UNIVERSAL PRAYER RESPONSE: Lord, hear our prayer. PRESENTATION OF THE GIFTS SIT LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST
4 4 PRESENTATION HYMN [5:00][7:30][9:00] Sung by all. LORD OF ALL NATIONS Text: Philippians 2:1-18; Olive W. Spannaus, b.1916, 1969, 1997, Concordia Publishing House Tune: OLD HUNDREDTH, LM; Louis Bourgeois, c PRESENTATION ANTHEM [11:00] Sung by the Cathedral Choral Scholars. As we gather at your table Skinner Chávez-Melo As we gather at your table, as we listen to your word, help us know, O God, your presence; let our hearts and minds be stirred. Nourish us with sacred story till we claim it as our own; teach us through this holy banquet how to make Love s vict ry known. Turn our worship into witness in the sacrament of life; send us forth to love and serve you, bringing peace where there is strife. Give us, Christ, your great compassion to forgive as you forgave; may we still behold your image in the world you died to save. Gracious Spirit, help us summon other guests to share that feast where triumphant Love will welcome those who had been last and least. There no more will envy bind us nor will pride our peace destroy, as we join with saints and angels to repeat the sounding joy. Carl P. Daw, Jr. PREPARATION OF THE GIFTS... that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the almighty Father. May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands, for the praise and glory of his name, for our good and the good of all his holy church. PRAYER OVER THE OFFERINGS RESPONSE: Amen.
