Ten days away! Giving Tuesday is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, a national day of giving for nonprofits. This is the third annual Day of Giving. This event is called We Give Catholic, and will take place on Tuesday, November 27. St. Mary School is participating in this Giving Tuesday. Donating to benefit St. Mary School is a simple experience that you can do from your computer, tablet or smartphone at any time beginning at midnight on November 27 and continuing for a 24 hour period. Secure, taxdeductible donations will be accepted on the website wegivecatholic.org. By designating St. Mary School, the money you contribute will benefit us directly and place us in the running to receive cash prizes throughout the day. We have also secured an anonymous matching donor up to $10,000. Every dollar donated will be matched up to $10,000! Thank you in advance for your support! Attention: Teens in 8th -12th grades The Upper Room is located in the Guardian Angel Building at St. Mary on the 3rd floor. Join us for food, fun, and fellowship. Our next meetings are November 18 and December 2 at 6pm in The Upper Room.

Sponsor a Veteran for Christmas The Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky is a facility with 600 male & female residents. Almost 60% of the residents are from Lorain or Cuyahoga County and have nothing when they arrive. My goal is to make sure each resident receives a gift during the holidays. This is my 6th year doing this ambitious project. I coordinate with the Veterans Home on what the residents could use and put together various combinations of men & women s toiletries. It costs $20 to sponsor a Veteran and each gift is wrapped and hand delivered. I need people who would like to sponsor one or more veterans. 4 Harvey On Thursday, the fifth through eighth grades went to Elyria Catholic to see the play Harvey. They enjoyed watching the EC performers and met with them after to discuss the play. Elyria Police Officer Visits SMS Friday afternoon an Elyria police office came to visit St. Mary to talk about his occupation with the students. He explained what kind of training he had to go through to become an officer, the various things he would see on a typical day, and answered many of the students questions. The students thanked the Elyria police officers by giving them cards and a basket full of goodies. Marco s Pizza Day November 20 is Marco s Pizza Day!
