4 Welcome! We are glad that you have come to worship with us this morning. If you are looking for a spiritual home please fill out the blue card found in front of each pew and place on the offering plate. Everyone is welcome to receive Holy Communion Summer Worship - There is one Sunday Eucharist in July at 9:00 a.m. There will be no Coffee Hour. If anyone is unable to receive their Communion due to this change, the Rector will be happy to bring it to your home. The regular Sunday 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. services will resume on September 9th. First Response will assist in case of an emergency during the liturgies July 1 Donna Toole, July 8 Elva Brohart, July 15 Barb Smith, July 22 Wayne Mossman, July 29 Barb Smith. Thursday Morning Eucharist is still celebrated during July at 10:00 a.m. but is cancelled for August. It will resume Thursday September 6 th. The Parish Administrator will not be in the office during the months of July and August. Messages should be sent to the Rector or Church Wardens (see below). Office hours will begin again Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. starting September 4 th. Altar Flowers If you would like to put flowers from your garden, market flowers or florist flowers behind the altar this summer please contact Helen Hall ( ), or Diane Bresson ( ). Donations to the Food Bank At any time of the year, food is needed. Baskets have been placed in the church and hall for weekly donations, not just occasional ones. There is no Food Bank Sunday because every Sunday counts. Before you leave for church, please pick up some canned goods, pasta or rice, etc., for the baskets. Financial Needs of the church never take a holiday. Please remember to contribute financially to Emmanuel even when you are away on vacation. Please help us keep the air we share healthy and fragrance -free Summer Holidays Reverend Cathy will be away from the parish on holidays from August 6 th to 21 st. For pastoral emergencies on call for her during this time will be Reverend Peggy Kuzmicz at (August 12 th service will be Service of Word, August 19 th service will be with Rev. Allan Studd.) Upcoming Event Why Aren t They Coming to Church and What Should We Do About it? Is a workshop designed to understand why people have stopped attending worship? Leslie Gibbs, child, youth, and Adult Learning Facilitator and Reverend Jon Martin will facilitate this workshop to be held Thursday evenings October 4, 11, and 18. 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Carleton Reid Hall. Coffee and dessert will be available at 6:30 p.m. Hope to see you there!
