The purpose of this creation has many folds: to gather Buddhist literature, to collect books and documentation on the history, the economy, the customs and traditions, the geography of Laos. The library aims to disseminate the Buddhist precepts and also as a learning centre about Laos for research students and scholars. The management Committee has asked Mr Viliam Phraxayavong one of the Seniors in the Lao community to embark on this project. His team is composed of: Mr Siphouthone Luangaphay and Mr Pradith Soutthav ong. Since January 2009, the library has been able to prepare the blueprints of some Buddhist literature ready for publication, under the guidance of Phra Acharn Kongmy Khouangvichith, the Abbot of Vat Lao Brisbane. Some of us hav e made book donation added to our existing collection. Those who wish to donate the rare books to Vat Phrayortkeo library are welcome and please contact the persons in charge at Vat Phray ortkeo. Please Note: There are more Dhamma text books available at the Buddhist Council of New South Wales situated at: Level 1, 441 Pacific Highway Crows Nest, NSW 2065 PO Box 593 Crows Nest NSW 1585 Tel No Fax No office@buddhistcouncil.org Website: Lao Buddhist Society of NSW would like to thank Mr Michael Chen for his most generous offer of Dhamma texts to the Lao temple.
