2 This conference is aimed to bring together young researchers and leaders from different facets of Immunology, which will be a magnificent conglomeration of innovators to exchanging ideas. For this, the delegates will be provided enough time for presentation, interaction and to review the posters in a pleasant interactive atmosphere. THE INDIAN IMMUNOLOGY SOCIETY The Indian Immunology society was established for the promotion of the science of immunology and related disciplines with special emphasis on human health problems of India, and to facilitate exchange of ideas & information amongst scientist and researchers working in different research areas of Immunology. The society is achieving its goal by providing platforms for regular consultation, exchange of information and sharing scientific knowhow. THE ORGANIZING INSTITUTE: RMRIMS Rajendra Memorial Research Institute of Medical Sciences (RMRIMS), Patna was established in the memory of Deshratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the First President of Republic of India in the year It was taken over by Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi on 1st April, 1984 under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India and thereafter the main thrust area of research is Visceral Leishmaniasis (Kala-azar). This institute has established land marks in the field of diagnostics, therapeutics and drug modalities for Kalaazar and PKDL. Besides, this institute has notable contribution in Kala-azar elimination programme and has also made significant inputs in the areas of tuberculosis (MDR/XDR diagnosis), viral diseases, HIV, anti-reteroviral therapy & ART-plus and in various epidemics and orphan diseases appearing emerging and remerging in Bihar and adjoining area. RMRIMS as a premium research institute has played leading roles in the advancement of health care in the country with its 267 staffs (104 regular staff including 18 Scientists and with 163 project staff including 9 scientists and 50 Ph.D. students) at the moment. Major scientific divisions include Animal House, Biochemistry, Biostatistics, Clinical Medicine, Epidemiology, Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Pathology, Social Science, Vector Biology and Control and some newly established departments like ART and ART+ centre, Bioinformatics, ICTC, MDR/XDR Tuberculosis Diagnostic Centre, Opioid Substitution Therapy, Virology etc. THE VENUE Patna, the capital city of Bihar, is situated on the south bank of the river Ganga. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and multifaceted with mythological and archaeological sites of history. Ancient Patna, known as Patliputra was the capital of Magadh Empire ruled by Haryanka, Nanda, Mauryan, Sung, Gupta and Pala dynasty. Buddhism, the world s most widely adhered religion originated from this place. Oldest and truly International Universities of the time: Nalanda and Vikramshila situated close to Patna were the centres of learning, established in 5th and 8th century respectively. Bihar has the honour of giving the world its first democracy through Lichchivi (modern days Vaishali) during ancient era. Samrat Ashoka ruled over greater India from Kumhrar, which is about one kilometer away from the conference venue.
3 Atmosphere at Patna: 2 nd week of October may be experienced as after monsoon season at Patna and may encase partly cloudy, fog free and dust free climate with moderate temperature. REGISTRATION Registration is mandatory for all the delegates. The delegates are requested to send duly filled registration form along with the registration fee. Kindly mention your name and address at the back side of demand draft. Spot ABSTRACT An abstract of about 250 words including title, authors name and address has to be sent to immunocon2015@gmail.com. Presenting author s name should be underlined. The abstract should be typed in single space, in MS word format using 12 font size in Times New Roman. The abstract should include in brief the purpose of study, methods, results and conclusions. Only registered delegates can submit the abstracts. The registration number as well as author s choice for oral/poster presentation should be indicated on top right corner of abstract page. However, decision of the Scientific Committee will be final in allocation of the mode of presentation. Thumb takes and display board will be provided by the Organizers. Delegates can submit abstract up to 28 th August, 2015 (Under Delayed Submission). LOCAL SIGHTSEEING
4 Buddha Smriti Park: The Buddha Smriti Park, also known as Buddha Memorial Park, is developed by the Govt. of Bihar to commemorate the 2554 th birth anniversary of Lord Buddha. This park has been constructed in place of a redundant Bankipur Central Jail in front of Patna Junction. The park was inaugurated by His Holiness Dalai Lama on 27 th May, Main attraction in this park is 200 feet high Karuna Stupa housing the pot containing holi ashes originally excavated from Vaishali, two saplings of maha bodhi tree brough from Bodh Gaya and Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. Golghar: It was a largest grainary for British Army with a storage capacity of 14x10 5 tones, built after the devastating famine of Once the monument was the identity of Patna due to its height and structure. Its foundation is 125 meter, height 25 meter and wall width 3.6 meter at base. Kumhrar or Kumrahar: The remains of ancient Patliputra of Mauryan period ( BC). The ruins include of hypostyle 80 pillated hall, marks of ancient capital of Ajatshatru, Chandragupta, Ashoka and relics from 600 BC to 600 AD including Anand Bihar, Arogya Vihar (headed by Dhanvantri) and Durukhi (double faced) Devi Temple (Shunga art). Patna Sahib: Guru Gobind Singh Jee, the tenth Guru of the Sikh was born on 22 nd Dec This holy place was also visited by Guru Nanak Dev Jee and Guru Teg Bahadur Jee. Like other historic Gurudwara built in India and Pakistan, Patna Sahib is also built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh on the bank of river Ganga. Patna Museum: Bihar state museum comprises a wide range of historical, spiritual, botanical, zoological, political and cultural artifacts collected through time from the vicinity of Bihar. SIGHTSEEING IN OUT SKIRT OF PATNA CITY Rajgir: Ancient Rajagraha or Rajagrih, the first capital of Magadha evolved 1000 BC and associated with Mauryan, Budhism and Jainism. Lord Budha spent many rainy season (Chaturmas) at Gridhakuta (Vulture,s Peak) mountain. Gridhakuta witnessed Atanatya conference. Besides, there are historical and mythological ruins like Jarashandha,s Akhara (Mahabharta), Saptaparni cave, Venuvana Monestry, Boars Cave, Piphali cave, Sonabhadra cave, Jivakambavana, and the ruins associated with king Bimbisara. Rajgir rope way is unforgettable tourist attrition.
5 Nalanda: A large Buddhist monastery and university (5 th to 12 th century) flourished under the patronage of Gupta Empire and later during Harsha and Pala Dynasty. This University attracted students for Tibet, China, Korea and Central Asia. The University was destroyed by an army of Mamluk Dynasty under Bakhtiyar Khilji (1200 AD) Bodhgaya: It is a most holy and religious place for the followers of Budhism all over the world. Mahabodhi Tample is situated beneath the Mahabodhi Bricha (Ficus religiosa or Pipal Tree), under which, Lord Budha had got enlightenment. This temple is declared as UNESCO World Haritage. King Ashoka was the first to built this temple. There are several monasteries of various countries in surrounding to the temple. Besides, a 25 m high great Budha statue is a gracious and attraction for tourists and pilgrims. Gaya: The name is associated with a mythological demon Gayasur who had secured blessings from Lord Vishnu. There are many famous Hindu temples on hill tops viz. Rama Shila, Mangal Gauri, Shingrasthan. A famous temple Vishnupada Mandir is situated on the bank of river Falgu (Niranjana). Several legendry saints as Ramanujacharya, Mahadevacharya, Sankaracharya and Chaitnya Mahaprabhu have visited this temple. Pawapuri: It is one of the most holy site for Jains. It is associated with cremation of 24 th Tirthankar Mahavira after achieving Moksha or Nirvana. There is a very beautiful architectural and spiritual temples named Jalamandira in the centre of lotus pond. Another Jain temple Samosharan is also located here, where the Lord Mahavira delivered his last lecture. Vaishali: It was the capital city of Licchavi, which is considered one of the first example of republic in the Vajjian Confederacyaround 6 th century BC. It was 539 BC, the 24 th Jain Tirthankara, Bhagwan Mahavira was born and brought to Kundalgrama in Vaishali republic. Also Gautam Budha preached his last sermon before his death in 483 BC. This site contains one of the best preserved pillars of Ashoka topped by a single Asiatic Lion. Its courtesan, Amrapali is rememberd for her beauty and help in large measure in making the city prosperous during the period of Lord Buddha. ARRIVAL TO PATNA Patna is well connected to all the major cities in India and regular trains and flights are available from Patna to other parts of the country. The venue is 8 km. away from Patna Jn. and 18 km. from Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport, Patna. Prepaid taxies, other cabs and auto-ricksa are easily available for the vanue.
