WORDS OF WISDOM The mind is everything. What you think you become. Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth. Be kind to all creatures; this is the true religion.

The study of English language in this age of globalization is essential. English language is the most important language of communication between different countries. In India, people of different states have their own language. English Language has come us as a connecting link among various states of India. U.N. has recognized five languages as its official languages and of them English takes the first position because of its background, international acclaim of easy access to the people. If we go back to historical facts, we see that half of the globe was under the British imperialism. Those countries coming directly under British rule had by necessity or under compulsion to learn English and the rest either being influenced by the English culture or to keep pace with modern trend had but to opt for learning it.

Wuthering Heights is a heart-rending story of a lover who is so driven by revenge that there is no prospect of sensitivity, contentedness and satisfaction. There is a elegant portrayal of how a spark of revenge can prove to be catastrophic, destroying the life of anyone who comes near the person who the carrier of those feelings and how the path of malevolence makes every moment of life from thereon a pitiable memory. The book is tragic, painful and grim, yet there is some unearthly beauty in it. The reader is captivated and bewitched into a mood of misery and is left with a sense of respect for the author. This book is not happy or pleasurable- It is impactful and unique, It is alluring and something which you can't forget, it is an amazing experience and Death as a narrator is an amazing idea which is carried out perfectly. There were some moments which made me recollect some of the moments from To kill a mockingbird. All in all, this book is absolutely wonderful which is definitely worth a try.

stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening BY ROBERT FROST Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer To stop without a farmhouse near Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year. He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound s the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.

The torture and cruelty, these dumb animals have to go through, wheel research is being carried out on them, is a well known fact. Only recent the plight of animals that are used for research in the prestigious All India! Medical Sciences was exposed by the Media. Such cruelty, letting them suffer in pain sends a shiver through the spine. The animals, kept in small enclosures, were going round and round in circles which is proof of their nervous break down. Is it not cruelty? I do not mean that all research should be stopped but if an animal is in pain! it should be put to death rather than just letting it live, for animals too feel pain, moreover, we can also ensure that they are looked after well. An animal, used roaming around freely in its natural habitat cannot be happy living in cage or small enclosures. There is no doubt that a great deal of cruelty to animals is due to our mindset that animals are happy as long as they are ell fed, which is not correct; imagine yourself being kept captives and then our would understand what it means.

Light of the pets that are kept in houses is also no better. They are orally at our mercy and even if ill-treated cannot say anything neither is anyone concerned about their condition. It would not be right to say that all owners are insensitive to their pets but mostly it is noticed that their treatment depends on the moods of the owner. People often hurt these dumb creatures without even realizing that they too feel pain. The plight of cows and stray dogs is a common sight in India. Is it not cruelty to let them roam around on the streets, and let them eat garbage dumped on the road sides, exposing them to being hit by fast moving traffic and also by shopkeepers whose goods they are destroying? When the animal has served its purpose and becomes old, infirm, or diseased the amber abandons it and leaves it on its own to suffer pangs of hunger and pain. The big question is do the animals have a right to live well? Animal Rights Activists do raise their voices but their voices are too weak to be heard. In many religions, animals were worshipped in the past and any cruelty towards them was condemned by the society and so their rights were protected, but, today we are becoming insensitive not only towards animals but also towards other human beings. Everything on this Earth has a well defined purpose, thus, there is a need to have strong laws for protecting the rights of animals, only then can they be saved from Man s greed and selfishness and balance of Nature can be maintained. Even in schools, students need to learn, how to respect the rights of other living things and love all creations of Nature. Parents also can help in making their children sensitive to the pain our actions may cause them. It is still not too late, let us together pledge to make a difference.

William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright, and actor, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. He is often called England's national poet, and the "Bard of Avon". His extant works, including collaborations, consist of approximately 38 plays,154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and a few other verses, some of uncertain authorship. He was born and brought up in Stratford-upon-Avon Warwickshire. At the age of 18, he married Anne Hathaway, with whom he had three children: Susanna, and twins Hamnet and Judith. Sometime between 1585 and 1592, he began a successful career in London as an actor, writer, and part-owner of a playing company called the Lord Chamberlain's Men, later known as the King's Men. He appears to have retired to Stratford around 1613, at age 49, where he died three years later. Few records of Shakespeare's private life survive, which has stimulated considerable speculation about such matters as his physical appearance, sexuality, and religious beliefs, and whether the works attributed to him were written by others.

Shakespeare produced most of his known work between 1589 and His early plays were primarily comedies and histories, and these are regarded as some of the best work ever produced in these genres. He then wrote mainly tragedies until about 1608, including Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, and Macbeth, considered some of the finest works in the English language.in his last phase, he wrote tragicomedies, also known as romances, and collaborated with other playwrights. Many of his plays were published in editions of varying quality and accuracy during his lifetime. In 1623, however, John Heminges and Henry Condell, two friends and fellow actors of Shakespeare, published a more definitive text known as the First Folio, a posthumous collected edition of his dramatic works that included all but two of the plays now recognised as Shakespeare's. It was prefaced with a poem by Ben Jonson, in which Shakespeare is hailed, presciently, as "not of an age, but for all time".in the 20th and 21st centuries, his works have been repeatedly adapted and rediscovered by new movements in scholarship and performance. His plays remain highly popular, and are constantly studied, performed, and reinterpreted in diverse cultural and political contexts throughout the world.
