Mr Modi was addressing students in New Delhi to mark the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda's speech at World Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893.

4 The Prime Minister said, there is no better place for creativity and innovation than university campuses. Mr Modi also said, student organizations, while campaigning for university elections, should give more importance to cleanliness. The Prime Minister added, the 9/11 of 1893 was about love, harmony and brotherhood but the world has forgotten it and remember this date for 9/11 terror attack in the US. Mr Modi also said, the concept of One Asia was given by Swami Vivekananda who had said that the solutions to the world's problems will come from Asia.

5 The Prime Minister said, the world is now saying that 21st century is Asia's century. Referring to those who oppose the Make in India initiative, Mr Modi said, they should see the correspondence between Swami Vivekananda and Jamset ji Tata which showed the concern Swami ji had towards India's self-reliance. He said, Swami Vivekananda did not believe in sermonising rather his ideas and idealism paved way for an institutional framework through Ramakrishna Mission. He said, Swami Vivekananda raised his voice against in society. Mr Modi also batted for promoting skills among the youth and asked them to work for a modern India. He said, the world evaluates the country where it is today not what it was 5,000 years ago.

13 India-Belarus President of Belarus AG Lukashenko is arriving in New Delhi this evening on a two-day visit. The visit is taking place in a year when Belarus and India are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. During the visit, President Lukashenko will have meetings with President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. The two sides are expected to discuss co-operation in defence and security, trade and investment, science and technology and people to people exchanges.

16 Minister of Education, Belarus, Mr. Karpienka Ihar met the Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan here today. Various issues pertaining to collaboration between the two countries in the field of vocational education and skill development were discussed. The Minister of Belarus highlighted the expertise of his country in the field of vocational training, with special reference to the manufacturing sector. The meeting ended with the both sides promising to continue the cooperative approach in the field of vocational and technical education and leverage their areas of strength.

Venkaiah Naidu has said that people in the country, particularly the younger generation to be fully acquainted with the roots of Indian culture, ethos and history. This documentary is produced by India Inspires Foundation in association with the Indus University. He further said that Kumbh Mela illustrates that India is the spiritual capital of the world and it is an event where great spiritual integration of people takes place. The Vice President said that culture and religion were not the same. When we talk of culture, we are not talking of religion. Culture is a way of living while religion is a way of worship, he added. It seeks to provide an understanding of the tradition of saints and sages of India, among others, he added.

18 Finance Minister on Loan Defaults Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that big defaulters are responsible for higher Non-Performing Assets of banks. Speaking in Pune on the occasion of the Centenary year of Pune District Central Cooperative Bank, Mr Jaitley said that recovery of money from these big defaulters has become a big challenge. He said Non-Performing Assets are low, where smaller amount of loans have been taken for agricultural and smaller businesses and even in MUDRA scheme the defaulters are miniscule. 19 Murder of a child The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a plea of a CBI or SIT probe into the recent murder of a seven-year-old boy at Ryan International School in Gurugram. The plea has been filed by the boy's father. The matter was mentioned before a bench, headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra, which said the plea would be heard today subject to the clearance by the apex court registry. "The Supreme Court also agreed to hear a separate PIL, which has raised the issue of lack of safety measures in private schools across the country. The boy was found with his throat slit in a washroom of the school on Friday. Ashok Kumar, one of the bus conductors, who allegedly killed the boy while trying to sexually abuse him, was arrested the same day. Two top officials of the school have also been arrested while the acting principal has been detained for questioning in connection with the case. Fourteen police teams have been constituted to probe the case. Police is questioning the school staff while an SIT team is headed to Mumbai to interrogate school CEO Ryan Pinto and director Albert Pinto."

20 Meanwhile, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar called up his Haryana counterpart Manohar Lal and urged him to ensure stern action against those responsible for the murder of the seven-year old boy. The parents of the victim originally hail from Madhubani district of Bihar.
