2 Badminton Jaylon Payne 1st/4th Saturdays at 10:00 MPR Badminton is a racquet sport played by either two opposing players (singles) or two opposing pairs (doubles), who take positions on opposite halves of a rectangular court that is divided by a net. Walk and Talk Annett 2nd/3rd/4th Thursdays at 10:00 Lobby Join us for weekly short and moderate walks. New walkers are welcome at any time and in particular we would like to see more people attending the short walks. If you or anyone you know or work with would benefit from a short walk with company then do come along and meet this friendly and supportive group. Shabbat Chef Peter Brown Every Other Friday at 4:30 PDR Just as the creation of the world was initiated by light, so too is the Sabbath, as befits the celebration of creation. We usher in the Sabbath before sunset, with a candle-lighting and bread cutting ritual. Poetic Voices Jack Li 4th Saturday at 10:30 MPR Poetic Voices brings the art of poetry to the public while encouraging creativity and self-expression through interactive experiences in reading, writing, and performance. A Week in Review Jordan Every Other Saturday at 2:00 MPR Join Jordan Pedersen as he catches you up on current events, including local and international happenings. The session will start with summaries and highlights and then will lead into a discussion. Creative Floral Tanya Fekade Saturdays at 1:30 Living Room Whether you want to arrange flowers at home or are interested in becoming a professional floral designer, this class will give you a great foundation on the technical tricks of flower arranging as well as composition, color, and design. Tanya will show you how to achieve effortless looking arrangements that have that just-picked-from-the-garden look. Poetry Appreciation Stephanie Moran Sundays at 1:00 MPR The art of poetry gives pleasure and invites knowledge. This course is based on a conviction that the more you know about an art, the more pleasure you will find in it. Residents are encouraged to think truly, carefully and passionately about what the poem says, along with how the poem feels in one s own, actual or imagined voice. Spanish 101 Stephanie Moran 1st/3rd Sundays at 3:30 MPR Spanish 101 is about developing a basic vocabulary and understanding simple phrases.
3 Bridge 101 Joan Every Other Monday at 1:30 Living Room Bridge 101 is for people who have never played bridge and those people who have played for years but want a refresher course or just want to learn the basics. Comedic Bingo Sahar B. Edalati 1st Monday at 3:30 MPR Bingo has a bit of comedic relief coming its way! Expect a steady stream of laughs. Tai-Chi Cindy Tsotsoros 2nd/4th Mondays at 10:00 MPR Originally developed for self-defense, tai chi has evolved into a graceful form of exercise that's now used for stress reduction and a variety of other health conditions. Often described as meditation in motion, tai chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements. The Art of Personal Memoirs Chelsea Beirne 2nd/3rd Tuesday at 6:30pm Living Room Through a series of fun, directed writing exercises, we will explore the terrain of memoirs: mining for material, constructing characters and settings, shaping vivid dialogue, understanding point of view, exploring the many forms of nonfiction today, and finding your voice. Power-Hour David Moss 2nd/4th Saturday at 10:00 MPR In between rounds, you ll tackle toning exercises that keep your mind focused and your muscles challenged. David will play his fresh music for us weekly, energizing classes from start to finish. Watermark Men's Club David Third Thursday at 7:00 PM MPR Where men can relax and create friendships with other men. The Watermark Men's Club combines style, food and drink of a contemporary private members' club. Musical Film Series Sara Corwin Tuesdays 2:00, Fridays 2:30 MPR Join Sara for her film series, as she shares with us an exploration of musicians and their lives. We will study a variety of musical genres including Jazz, Classical, Bebop, and Pop. Artists often have interesting lives and express their struggles and joy through their music. Musicians are often influenced by the social events around them and we will discuss the impact the political and social issues that fueled their music. Bible Study Esther Third Thursday at 2:00 MPR This on-going Bible Study explores various books of the Bible throughout the year. Esther hosts a range of study material designed to aid your research into the meaning and purpose of the scriptures. Systems Tour Jim Tulley Third Thursday 10:45 Lobby Systems Tour explains the science of building construction and mantainence in great clarity and detail. Jim will walk you through the Watermark and help you understand concepts in building construction and maintenance. "Life, Afterlife and God" Rabbi Erlick 2nd Monday at 6:30 MPR Jan. 13: "Ethical Wills: Passing on Treasures of the Heart," Feb. 10: "The Spiritual Meanings Behind Judaism's End-of-life Rituals," Mar. 10:0 "Do Jews Believe in Heaven?," April 14: "The Nature of the Jewish Soul."

"Move and Groove" Millenial Dance Myra Linton Every Other Thursday at 10:00 MPR "Move and Groove" is a stimulating approach to group exercise classes. It's the perfect alternative to the typical gym experience, giving residents a complete fun-fitness-dance experience. So why do boring biceps curls, tedious crunches and simple squats at the gym, when you can accomplish the same toned body from millenial generation dance formats? Songs Galore Diane Spiwak 2nd/4th Mondays at 6:30 MPR Sing to your heart s content! This friendly group will gather together to enjoy singing favorite songs from the 1930 s thru the 80 s. No auditions required. Pre-requisite: want to have fun, be with friends, sing, share stories. Great for energizing, exercising the lungs, the tongues and the heart. Technology 101 Stephanie Moran Tuesdays at 9:30 By Appointment Our world is technology driven and this generation of young children have been born into an age of ever changing media. Everyone has some level of computer skills today and it is our job to keep all residents as current as possible in this fast changing environment. Signup for 1-1 instruction or help on any technological platform. TED Talks Gabe Gomez Tuesdays at 9:30 MPR TED is a global set of conferences run by the private non-profit Sapling Foundation, under the slogan "Ideas Worth Spreading". The class screens many of the famous TED Talks given by impressive influencers in their industry and is followed by an in depth discussion on the videos subject matter. Personal Training and LIFESTYLE! Melissa Toader Sundays at 10:00, Fridays at 10:30 MPR There s a reason movie stars and financial moguls use personal trainers: The benefits of working with a personal trainer is one of the fastest, easiest, most successful ways to improve your health and fitness. Private Piano Lessons Adrienne Clugher 1st/3rd Monday at 6:30pm MPR Learn to play piano with Adrienne Clugher. Adrienne provides instruction to all levels from beginner to advanced. Choreography 101 Jaylon Payne 3rd Saturday at 10:00 MPR Choreography 101 is for dancers of all levels who want to put together their dance moves. Choreography usually comes about from one of two avenues. You either create inspiring movement and then find a song to fit, or you find an inspiring song and then create movement to fit. Table Tennis Coach TBA Fridays at 6:30pm *Starts February MPR We will attempt to pair each player with a partner of similar level. The coaches will observe and coach every player while he/she is playing. Players will also participate in games amongst one another, to simulate real tournament situations & pressures.the overall emphasis is to break bad habits and to attempt to learn the proper techniques and footwork of table tennis.
