June 5 - Gwen Walker The Coats of My Ancestors Gwen Walker will talk about how we inherit behavioral and life patterns from our ancestors, and how she finally had the courage to begin a new life with the behavioral coat she made for herself. Gwen is a contemporary commercial voice expert, publishes about emotional health for performers, and is also a teacher of the Alexander Technique. You may have heard her lending her singing talents with the Morning Star band. Meditator - Katrina Boyd June 12 - Teresa Collado Soul Journey of an Artist Teresa Collado will share her soul journey of becoming an artist smack dab in the middle of her life. Vulnerability, letting go, trusting God, and living in today all led to miracles that have no other explanation other than God working in her life. Teresa is the Executive Director of Norman Addiction Information & Counseling, a life saving, life changing nonprofit that provides outpatient treatment for substance abuse, gambling and other mental health issues. She is currently the Chief Steward of Morning Star and has been a member of this community since More importantly, she is a wife, Momma and GiGi to some of the most amazing people in the world. Meditator - Leslie Draper June 19 - Leah S. Taylor, Ph.D. The Father Inside Me Leah S. Taylor, PhD, LPC, LMFT, is the daughter of a rabbi who served the Tulsa community during the 50 s through the 80 s, by bringing the Jewish congregations out of the shadows and into the interfaith community. He accomplished that during a time when the civil rights struggles made that activity unpopular and sometimes dangerous. Dr. Taylor learned from her family to have courage and to serve and advocate for those who are poor and disempowered. With that history informing her decisions, for 40 years she has served fragile populations as a behavioral health practitioner. Trained in California she ran specialized programs there for the severely mentally ill and the

3 heroin-addicted populations before returning to Oklahoma, her home state. She has practiced independently for many years as a family therapist and a consultant to programs throughout the state serving children and families, including those for juvenile offenders and child welfare clientele. In 1990 she joined the staff of Moore Youth and Family Services, developing the Moore Family Institute, which trained graduate interns for ten years under her leadership. She has worked in positions for North Care Center, the Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality, the clinic for the HIV/AIDS population at OUHSC, and with the Oklahoma Health Care Authority with the medical unit. Dr. Taylor continues her private practice in Oklahoma City, as a therapist and consultant to nonprofit organizations, including NAIC in Norman. She is also a poet and has published two books of poetry. Meditator - Teresa Collado June 26 - Geoffrey Burch The World is How We Interpret It We shape our world by the actions we take. Geoffrey Burch is a composer of music for film, a real estate speculator, and anything else he fancies. He also is one of our amazing musicians with our wonderful Morning Star Band. Researchers have determined that Venus was indeed visible at dawn in Provence in the spring of 1889 and at that time was near its brightest possible. So the brightest "star" in the painting, just to the viewer's right of the cypress tree, is actually the morning star. Do we know what the Morning Star is and what it represents? While poking around the internet, looking for the meaning of the morning star, a meaning that I could accept and as it relates to our community, I found far more than I expected. The scholars amongst us have no doubt explored this topic and are well-versed in the myriad explanations, each meant to provide the definitive answer. My wanderings found me immersed in the fields of Astronomy, Philosophy, Religion and ART, as well as Literature, Mythology and more. Would you like to journey with me as I continue to explore? Each month or so, I will find some tidbits of information relating to the interpretations of the morning star as revealed throughout the disciplines and sub-disciplines of knowledge. The theme for WED 2016 is the illegal trade in wildlife, which threatens species such as rhinos and tigers with extinction. Wildlife crime also undermines economies and security, especially in developing countries. This year s World Environment Day celebrations are hosted by Angola, a country seeking to restore its elephant herds, conserve Africa s biodiversity-rich wildlife, and safeguard the environment as it continues to rebuild after more than a quarter-century of civil war.
