1 The Other 90% by David Franklin Farkas Throughout history mystics in every culture have told us, in one way or another, that everything is energy. It is often said that we are caught in a world of illusion and our attachment to that illusion causes our pain. Over 100 years ago, the most well know scientist in history, Albert Einstein, said essentially the same thing. 'Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.' His well known equation E=MC 2, says simply that energy and matter are the same thing, but a tremendous amount of energy is compressed into what we experience as matter. Some psychics and mystics refer to matter as 'density.' An apt description. In other words, everything is energy and the physical reality we experience is an illusion, what Einstein called an optical delusion. Physicists tells us that everything exists simultaneously as both energy, which is a wave form of a certain electromagnetic frequency, and matter, or particles having mass. Possibilities reside as energy. Our physical experience is one of many possibilities. TheMagicHappens.com 1

2 To make things even stranger, the same scientists surmise that up to 96% of the energy and matter in the Universe is 'dark' meaning it does not give off any electromagnetic energy that can be detected with existing technology. They know it exists because it affects other objects and events... but they can't measure it. So everything science works with, the 'known Universe' as it were, is about 4% of what actually exists. So what is the other 96% anyway? Everything is energy. Matter is energy that is compressed to make particles, which behave differently from waves of energy. But, science is only working with the 4% of reality it can measure, and they're not sure what the rest of everything is? Yikes. Hard science from decades of experimentation in the former Soviet Union indicates that this other 96% of everything is a 'field' phenomenon from which electromagnetism, gravity and other measurable phenomena arise. I had originally heard the statistical proportion of known to unknown as 10% to 90%. That ratio seems to show up in various ways all over the place. When DNA, the human genome, was mapped, it was found that only 10% of the genes actually affected the structure and health of the body. The remaining 90% was considered 'junk' or 'vestigial.' Of course nature never keeps much of anything if it has no purpose. So 90% of something as important as DNA being junk or no longer having a purpose, is an odd conclusion. It is often said that we only use 10% of the capacity of our brain. What then, exactly, is the other 90% for? Brain scans have show that when someone 'hears' a telepathic message the parts of the brain that are activated are identical to those used in normal hearing. A field phenomenon? Is this correlation a coincidence? That's unlikely. It just confirms how little we know and implies that the 'other 90%' in each case is related in some way. That other 90% TheMagicHappens.com 2

3 functions outside of present scientific understanding based on the electromagnetic spectrum and the behavior of mass. It is the structure of the mystery. As a healer and shaman who does remote healing, I assume that what I see and work with is that 90% of everything that science cannot yet measure. I can see it as 'grids' with structure and geometry connecting discrete points of light. Interestingly, Hindu mystics in ancient writings called reality a 'net of jewels.' Since I know others who see the same things that I do and they, too, can manipulate these phenomena in various ways getting consistent results, it seems that the technology available at this time to work with the 'other 90%' is a sensitive human being who has developed that skill. We have what science calls consistent anecdotal data. Patterns that can be repeated but cannot be isolated and measured experimentally. Yet. How common are these skills? During the cold war the Soviet Union used psychics as spies to collect data on distant events. The United Sates developed a similar program using what came to be know as 'remote viewing.' Essentially people were trained to 'see' and get information about remote locations and even listen to the thoughts of key people. They captured data that was typically more accurate than what was learned using spy satellites and other technology. What was truly amazing is that they found that almost anyone could be successfully trained in the protocol and get good results! These were not people who were naturally 'psychic,' they were rank and file military personnel. TheMagicHappens.com 3

4 Another example of accessing the other 90% is dowsing. Dowsing is widely know as a method for finding water. If you want to drill a well you find the local dowser who can locate the right spot to get the right amount of water at the right depth. They use simple traditional tools... for example, a tree branch or a bent metal rod... as a kind of biofeedback device. Their explanation is that the subconscious mind of the dowser has access to whatever it needs to know, taking it from the other 90%, perhaps? The dowsing rods or a pendulum are used with a specific questioning protocol to allow the trained dowser to find water... and all kinds of other information and to do healing work. Anyone can learn to dowse. So while some people are naturally talented in tuning into the other 90%, almost anyone can learn to work with it. Psychics are, essentially people whose physical senses are expanded such that they pick up data from the other 90%. If the sense of vision is expanded, it is called clairvoyance, which means clear seeing. If it is hearing the trait is called clairaudiance. Knowing or feeling is called clairsentience. Like any skill, talent helps, but one gets better with practice and benefits from training and a good coach. But these are commonplace human attributes. Throughout recorded human history, in every culture, there is extensive documentation about people using these skills. In much of the world it was the special realm of royalty or priesthood, to make it special and important. That was a way of keeping common people from using these skills. The witch burnings and later the Inquisition targeted anyone who dared to use this knowledge outside the control of the church. They were branded heretics. Even the early understandings of science were considered heretical and dangerous... especially to those early scientists. TheMagicHappens.com 4

5 Indigenous knowledge and skills were swept away. But it was not lost. We are in a time when this knowledge is returning. A time when the musing of scientists sound a lot like the writings of ancient mystics. When the experiences of modern mystics and healers sound a lot like the explanations of quantum physicists. The other 90% is a realm where time, distance and physical density seem not to exist or at least are not relevant. Where information can be accessed without technology. And most amazingly, where our normal existence in space time can be affected by changes made in this ethereal non-physical world. I got a heart warming today from a client for whom I have done many remote clearings on her home, and many of her family members with some wonderful improvements in their situations. She had requested that I work on an older gentleman who was headed for the hospital and possible surgery. The family was very worried that he might die even sooner than they expected. I worked on him remotely without his knowledge that it was happening. On the day I worked on him his condition improved. She reported that his belly was no longer distended and he lost 15 pounds of fluid almost over night. He did not require surgery and is now home recuperating. She sent a second ... sort of a postscript. It seems his computer printer had been balking before he went to the hospital. Nothing he did would get it to work. When he came home, the printer too, was mysteriously working fine. I love these moments. Consistent anecdotal data. TheMagicHappens.com 5
