Find your state of mindfulness to take with you throughout the week and beyond as you arrive at this tranquil setting, connect to your surroundings, open yourself to restorative and supportive energy, and meet your co-travellers on this week s journey. The Hero s Journey with Dr Janice Russell: Metaphor, Narrative, and Story Work through NLP: Our experience is filtered through the narratives we tell ourselves, those we hear and accept, and the stories we feel part of. Gain insight into the construction and action of your own narrative and work with the elements of your own personal story to create a space where magic can happen! The concept of the hero(ine) who discovers theirself through the experience of a journey, overcoming obstacles and developing a sense of meaning and of confidence in the world, is archetypal. Janice s work draws on her own experience as a creative individual who has participated in Dilts presentation of the Hero s Journey (which in turn draws on the rich tradition passed down through Campbell and Jung), her knowledge of NLP and interest in neuroscience, and, of course, her own ongoing Journey! Retreat Facilitators Keziah Gibbons is the retreat organiser and lead facilitator. Keziah is a healer, Reiki Master, Reiki Drum Master Practitioner, and NLP Master Practitioner.

True to archetype, Keziah became interested in healing through her own life journey, and was inspired towards becoming a Reiki master after her experience of chemotherapy treatment for hepatitis C.

Keziah has successfully run courses, workshops and meditation groups internationally, having spent time in the UK, Thailand, and Turkey before moving to Portugal to settle on the striking slopes of

She also teaches mindfulness meditation and tarot, and is the author of Living the Reiki Precepts. Currently she finds herself on a Druidic path. True to archetype, Keziah became interested in healing through her own life journey, and was inspired towards becoming a Reiki master after her experience of chemotherapy treatment for hepatitis C. This was but the first step on her own journey, as she began to explore working with energy, meditation, and healing with herself and with clients. Keziah has successfully run courses, workshops and meditation groups internationally, having spent time in the UK, Thailand, and Turkey before moving to Portugal to settle on the striking slopes of Monchique. Dr Janice Russell will be joining us for a day to facilitate the Hero s Journey. Janice is a Visiting Senior Fellow at the University of Lincoln, a double-certified NLP Trainer, and an Accredited Executive Coach. She is the author of multiple books, both fiction and non-fiction. Janice has always instinctively understood metaphor, and has explored that in different ways throughout her life, writing, teaching creative writing, creating healing stories and, inspired by attending a course with Robert Dilts, created her own Hero s Journey workshop. Dr Graham Dexter will spend an afternoon with us teaching his hypnotic pain management technique. Graham is a Visiting Senior Fellow at the University of Lincoln and has previously been Principal Nursing Tutor at the University of Teesside, as well as being an accredited trainer in NLP. Graham s interest in the field of pain management began with himself, and after he was able to successfully change, reduce and be free of his own aversive sensations using a blend of techniques from modern psychology and behavioural change, he has gone on to teach this with success to many clients.

Ceratonia Gardens The retreat will take place at Ceratonia Gardens, a centre for healing and education in the heart

The centre is run by herbalist Daisy Mae and her partner Corey, who have lent their hearts and souls to the

herbal gardens, among which you may camp in your own tent or in the centre s tipi.

The centre is run by herbalist Daisy Mae and her partner Corey, who have lent their hearts and souls to the building of Ceratonia and it has paid off in the form of one of the most peaceful and welcoming havens you will ever hear tell of. The centre boasts six bedrooms with communal bathroom facilities, as well as eight acres of lovingly cultivated herbal gardens, among which you may camp in your own tent or in the centre s tipi. The training room is light and amply cushioned, opening onto the gardens to absorb the joyful vitality of the plants. Delicious and nutritious meals are provided as part of the retreat, and at Ceratonia there is always something on the table which has come from the gardens. Enjoy communal dining on the deck, breathing in serenity from your surroundings.
