3 India Week «and Ayurveda» 2017 YOGA Manisha Singhania is a trained Instructor & Therapist for the last twelve years. She learnt at the International Society affiliated rakshanam in Chennai. A proponent of the classical hatha yoga, she has been conducting classes for a wide range of audience including corporates, sports persons, artists, women (pre-natal and post-natal), children and the elderly. Based out of Hyderabad, Manisha has a truly artistic & creative bent to her personality with her interests & expertise ranging from Painting to Arts to Music. She already conducted yoga workshop at the India club of Liechtenstein as part of India Culture Week 2015 and 2016 very successfully. 4 India Week «and Ayurveda» 2017 Ayurveda Deborah Guglielmo is an Ayurveda Therapist with diploma in Ayurveda massage and nutrition. Deborah lives with her Italian husband in Buchs SG, where she runs her Ayurveda studio ( She has been travelling to India twice a year since 1999 where she is active in several charity projects. Deborah started her education in Ayurveda, an ancient and holistic system of Indian medicine, in 2009 in Germany and India. She completed her qualifications as a massage therapist in 2012 and graduated as a therapist in Ayurveda in This education includes, among others, nutritional teachings, therapeutic applications, panchakarma, psychology and 600 hours of allopathic medicine. Deborah did her internship at Patel Ayurveda Hospital in Gujarat. The performing artists are deeply connected with the tradition of classical art and represent an unadulterated style. Performance: «Mahatandava The dance of death Shiva, the destroyer, Nataraja or the Mahakaal are few of the many names he is known with and greatly admired, worshiped and praised all over the subcontinent. Since the birth of all Indian dance forms, one of the biggest passions for the dancers is to portray or manifest Shiva s Tandava.. Shiva s Tandava is an allegory on the universality of death: no matter one's station in life, the Dance of Death unites all, very similar to late-medieval European artistic genre known as Danse Macabre. 6 India Week «and Ayurveda» 2017 Laughter YOGA Vijay Kumar Singh, laughter yoga trainer, based in Zuerich, travelled as a journalist to Mumbai more than 10 years ago to the Indian doctor Madan Kataria, the developer of lauchter yoga. He went several times to talk about laughter yoga and to learn more about and to experience. The philosophy He combined of cominging his laughter with classical yoga breathing exercises convinced him, so he graduated as a laughter yoga trainer with Kataria. The laughter yoga in its current form is about 18 years old and is called asyayoga in India. It leads to a faithful, if practiced with love, to a harmonious and integrated life. It builds on traditional yoga knowledge and combines laughter and breathing exercises. Similar to the Indian thought, it is defined: Laughter meditation and laughter yoga are a part of the being of a person whose body becomes a useful tool. 7 India Week «and Ayurveda» 2017 Dhrupad Music & Amit Sharma is dhrupad singer and sound yoga teacher. Amit comes from a traditional musician family in Rewa Maddhya Pradesh, India, and has been singing dhrupad from his childhood. His wife Aana is from canton Graubünden and followed the dhrupad charm to India. They both live today in Zurich and are teaching dhrupad and performing concerts. His repertoire is Indian music and Mantra chanting: concerts and teachings on the base of Dhrupad music, old classical Northindian music. Authentic and innovative. 8 India Week «and Ayurveda» 2017 Concept Following the successful India Week 2015 and India Week 2016 in the Principality of Liechtenstein, India Club in Liechtenstein e.v., is proud to present the 3 rd edition of India week from November, Compared to the varied themes of the last 2 events, this years India week will focus on and Ayurveda. Manisha Singhania, our popular teacher from Hyderabad, will be back again this year and will be supported by Deborah Guglielmo, an Ayurveda expert. The week will feature morning, afternoon and evening yoga classes all though the week. The evening yoga classes will combine meditation and theory. On weekends, in addition to yoga and meditation, participants will get an introduction the ancient Indian practice of Ayurveda. The week will also feature an India dance and classical performance and introduction to Laughter as well as Dhrupad music and chanting. Note: Languages of classes and sessions is English and German.
