Dec.,2016 COMPANY THDCIL is one of the premier hydro power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1450 MW with commissioning of Tehri & Koteshwar Dam and 50MW Wind Power Project at Patan, Gujarat to its credit and is bestowed with 'Mini Ratna-Category-I & Schedule 'A' Status. Since the commissioning of its first project viz. Tehri Dam a multipurpose project on the river Bhagirathi in and Koteshwar HEP (400 MW) in , We are a profit making organization. Tehri Dam project started with the status of a project of 'National Significance' during its planning stage and was successfully commissioned in spite of stringent opposition during its implementation. 5 Sh. D.V. Singh, New CMD, THDCIL Oct.-Dec.,,2016 Sh. D.V. Singh assumed the charge of CMD, THDCIL on Prior to this he was discharging the responsibility of Director(Technical) w.e.f Sh. Singh is a Civil Engineering Graduate from NIT, Rourkela(1983) and has more than 03 decades of exhaustive experience in Underground works, Power House works, Spillways, Contracts, Material Management, Rehabilitation and Heavy Civil Construction. He is also credited for his leadership in helping turning around progress on the Koteshwar HEP(400MW) when it was almost derailed by delays. He introduced several innovations in implementation that helped THDCIL commission the project in a record period of 04 years. 5

7 PICTURE SQUARE Oct.-Dec.,2016 THDCIL entered into another Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a wind power project of 63 MW with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) at Vadodara on The agreement was signed by Sh. Ajay Mathur, General Manager (Commercial), on behalf of the THDCIL and Ms. Sailaja Vachhrajani GM (IPP), on behalf of the GUVNL. THDCIL entered into the Power Purchase Agreement for Dhukwan Small Hydro Project (24 MW), located in District Jhansi, UP, with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) on at Lucknow. The PPA was signed by Sh. Ajay Mathur, GM(Commercial), on behalf of THDCIL and Sh.V.P.Srivastava, Chief Engineer (PPA) on behalf of UPPCL. 7

15 TALKING POWER Oct.-Dec.,2016 On Govt. took a giant leap towards Less Cash Economy by way of Demonetization. Currently, a mass awareness drive is underway. Ministry of Power, Coal, NRE & Mines along with all CPSE and Organizations are taking a proactive role for wider stakeholders outreach and bringing them under the umbrella of Less Cash Economy. To know more on the noble contribution of THDCIL in these areas lets tune in conversation with Sh. Vijay Goel, General Manager(Corporate Communication)... Question- What are the initiatives taken for creating awareness on Demonetization Benefits? Response- As a responsible Corporate Citizen we have played a proactive role in this Cause of wider National Interest. From December 2016 onwards till now THDCIL has conducted around 11 Digital Payment Workshops for increasing awareness in association with banks such as PNB & SBI. The Finance Officers of THDCIL and the Banking Professional were the Coordinators of these Workshops. Sh. Vijay Goel, GM(P&A/CC) THDCIL has already introduced SODEXO MEAL VOUCHER in the Company to promote Cash less transactions w.e.f. August The Corporate Personnel Department has already issued directives to all Project/Unit Offices Heads and HODs regarding opening of bank accounts of Workers of Venders for payment of wages. POS Machine has been installed at our Rishikesh Guest House and in Corporate Finance. 15

Response-The Social Media Platforms of THDCIL is regularly contributing in creating awareness on the benefits of Demonetization and Cashless Payment options by way of uploading User Generated Content (UGC) on our official facebook page, twitter handle, What s Up groups etc. Question- Any innovative initiative taken to promote cash less payment? Response-THDCIL has also opted for Bulk Message Service for comprehensive Employees Communication at important occasions. This Bulk Message Service is also used to send messages for encouraging our employees and other significant stakeholders to use Digital Payment methods. TALKING POWER July-Sept,2016 Question-What message you would like to give for less cash system? Response-It is needless to state that the Cashless financial transactions are the most effective way of bringing transparency in the utilization of Public Money. The Government organizations and CPSUs can maintain prudent fiscal management by adopting online financial transactions in their working. I am happy to share that one of our employee Sh. A.K.
