4 PRESIDENT S WELCOME Welcome to the largest collection of dowsers in North America (and maybe anywhere)! We are pleased and proud to have you here. Our staff, convention committee and other volunteers have been working for months to make this the very best convention possible. The facilities are great and our speakers are second to none. Please take time to visit with the many vendors and treat yourself in our Wellness Center. Also, make sure you take the time to see some of the things that the New Paltz and greater historical Catskill area has to offer. Try bowling nine pins in the Catskill Mountains, see Sleepy Hollow, and re-explore Woodstock. If you have any questions or issues, don t hesitate to ask one of our volunteers, staff, or Board of Trustees. We want you to get the very most out of your time here. As you look over the schedule, make a point of coming to our Members Meeting. We have many opportunities and need a lot of talented people to help get things done. This coming fall and winter, we elect our new representatives to the Board of Trustees who will hold the reins of the organization for the next four years. We need new and refreshing ideas to keep members interested and to attract new members into the wonderful world of dowsing. I am looking forward to working on some different projects this coming year. It has been a great year so far and we have accomplished so much. I can hardly wait to see what is coming next! 5 2018 CONVENTION COMMITTEE WELCOMES YOU Welcome to the 58 th Annual Convention of the American Society of Dowsers, and our first year at the beautiful State University of New York at New Paltz. The Board of Trustees, Staff and the entire Convention Committee welcome you and look forward to helping you Determine Truth. We have strived to provide you with an interesting and varied array of workshops, speakers, vendors and wellness practitioners. We would not have been able to put this convention together without the amazing teamwork of Gale West, Mark Hurwich, LeeAnn Potter, Queenie Puryear, Sandra McKenzie, Constance Charters, Sandi Isgro, Mo Schwartz, Tick Gaudreau, and Barb Guzik. We are especially thankful for our talented and knowledgeable office staff Lisa Lacoss and Emma Lacoss. We are greatly indebted to our team for their skills, patience, time and positive energies throughout the months of planning. Each year we have the interesting challenge of selecting the right workshops and speakers from those that have applied, for those that will be attending, and then it is up to you to be at the right place at the right time. We do read your evaluations each year to give us guidance for the next year, so you really do have a part in selecting what we offer at the following year s convention. We thank you for doing your part to make each convention better than the previous one. We are honored that White Eagle will provide the opening and closing ceremonies. David Young, a twice Grammy Nominated musician, is returning to entertain us at our gatherings. A special Thank You to Alicja Aratyn for her contribution to support our Friday evening social event. This year the classrooms, vendors and wellness center are all in one building, easily accessible by elevator, or you can get your exercise by using the stairs. Also, don t forget to bring your water bottles and refill them at the stations throughout the campus, as this is a green campus and no water will be sold. The Wellness Center is back with the same and several new offerings. Treat yourself to better overall health and support your organization at the same time. 6 Thursday Evening, June 15, Lecture Center 100, 7:00 PM OPENING CEREMONY with White Eagle All members are encouraged to stay for the Annual Members meeting at 8pm in Lecture Center 100. Friday, Saturday & Sunday Mornings, June 15, 16 & 17 7:15 to 7:45 AM, In or around Lefever/Crispell Residence Halls YOGA with Dorothy Kerzner and MEDITATION with Roxanne Louise A wonderful way to wake up and start your day! In Dorothy s Yoga sessions, you start with protection and warm-ups and continue with Yoga asana, breathing and relaxation. This may be your first experience or your 100 th, both Dorothy and Roxanne have the ability to tailor their sessions to the participants so everyone's level is included. Roxanne's meditations start with a short breathing routine, followed by an intention to connect to your Higher Self for centering and balance, release unnecessary stress, and heal what you need to heal. Part will be guided and some time will be provided for your own individual work. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, June We have created a special 7-circuit Labyrinth for attendees to walk for health and healing. You are welcome to walk it at any time during the conference and experience the energy present for you. A Labyrinth creates sacred space where you can connect to the Divine in your meditative walk. If you have never walked a Labyrinth before here are a few items to remember to receive the most benefit: 1. At the entrance before you begin your journey take a deep breath, center yourself, and then think about what you need help with (ask the Divine for help?). 2. Begin your walk on the path and trust that you will reach the center. 3. If you feel the need to stop on the path turn side wise so other walkers can pass you. 4. When you reach the center Release your worries/problem to the Divine. 5. Turn and follow the path out. When you exit the Labyrinth turn and give Thanks for all you will receive. 10 Wednesday Full Day Workshops THE FOUNDATION COURSE IN DOWSING an ancient technique to determine your truth School Instructors: Joan Reid, Tick Gaudreau, Richard Roy, Brad Young, Dave Darrow Dowsing changed my life and the lives of my loved ones. Your instructors will share their knowledge of the art and science of dowsing so that you can fully participate in this ancient means of knowing. Many of us dowse to find lost objects, keys, pets, and other personal items. Some of us are also called upon to dowse for water, oil, and minerals. We use dowsing to get answers to yes and no questions, to help us navigate our future and to make decisions. The goal of this class is for you to learn the Foundation of dowsing and give you the hands on practice you need so that dowsing becomes a part of you. Course materials will be included. Your kit will include: pendulum, Y-Rod, L-Rod, Bobber, and the Foundation Course Manual (which contains a wealth of information about dowsing). You will learn: 1. How to use the four basic dowsing tools included in your kit 2. To properly prepare yourself to dowse 3. How to ask valid questions to receive answers You will be coached by seasoned dowsers in small groups and given individualized attention. We will answer your questions, share a few dowsing stories, laughs, and experiences. Finally, at the end of a fun and fast paced learning day when the course is completed, you will have the skills, knowledge, basic tools, and confidence you will need to commence your dowsing journey and further studies. At the conclusion of the course you will receive a certificate as a reminder of your achievements. As an additional benefit of being a member of ASD, you will have access to monthly meeting calls where you can ask questions and learn from other dowsers about a wide variety of subjects. *Note: Course materials included in fee. LOCATING & CLEARING THE MENTAL/EMOTIONAL DRIVERS OF DISEASE Roxanne Louise Mental and emotional stress plays a part of every health challenge. Some stress such as the death of a loved one is so devastating that there is a clear connection. But usually, it is a slow, steady, cumulative effect of unresolved issues that wear away the body's resources so that it can no longer muster the strength to protect itself. Some issues or vulnerabilities are inherited; some 10

11 perhaps are carried over from past lives. A great deal is unconscious. Dowsing excels in locating & clearing the stuck energies, the negative beliefs or judgements, the unhealed trauma (both yours and that of your ancestors). We will look at the shocks and internal conflicts that trigger many specific health conditions, the metaphysical meanings of disease, secondary gain, and multiple other ways to dowse out and resolve the major stressors that once complete free up energy for the body to move back to health. Wednesday Morning Workshops KEEPING SIMPLICITY IN THE COMPLICATED WORLD David Kane The purpose of this workshop is to enlighten us in the understanding of the balance between our 3D world and what I call our 5D world or spiritual world. Dowsing is one way to access one from the other. We start with explanations of what these things are and our aim is to have an enlightening interactive discussion. You already know a lot about these things and we hope to present some new perspectives. Technologies on the edge of 5D - Prior knowledge or interest in: Ormus materials, technological anomalies like Nitinol, Joe cells, Browns Gas, Magnetic fields in fluids, Iridescence and metallic glasses, alternate energies and God and Jesus, Buddah etc. - the 3D side of the world - Human concepts and how to identify them, the dilemma of words, how money is created, Economic System, Legal system function, Conspiracy theories, who gains and why, where do we place our energies for the most benevolent outcome. Aspects of the discussion: Why Dowsing is so important as the only verification tool for many. All questions are welcome. INTRODUCTION TO RADIONICS Marty Lucas The student will be introduced to the basic theory and practice of radionics. There will be a limited number of instruments available for hands on exercises. At the conclusion of the workshop, the student will understand the relationship between dowsing and radionics and have a working knowledge of how to use basic radionic instruments for subtle energy work. 11

The field around the body is also a perceptual system so we are in constant communication with everything around us sending and receiving information and energy through our fields. It carries the information about our physical, emotional, and psychic states. We can use dowsing to read these energy fields, and in so doing, learn about ourselves. As we take responsibility for our health, and balance our Physical, Mental, Spiritual and Emotional selves, we help others, as well as ourselves. As a shaman and dowser I find these skills are enhanced by each other. Shamanism opens you up to the nonordinary world, the world of the unseen and dowsing gives you the tools to measure and 16

LABYRINTH BUILDING WORKSHOP Sandi Isgro This course is designed to give you all the information and the hands on experience you need to build a 7-circuit labyrinth in your own back yard. Create this sacred meditative healing space for yourself or others. Learn to work with dowsing and earth spirits to site your labyrinth, build it, and maintain it. We will be creating a Labyrinth for the Conference attendees so please be prepared for going outside (proper shoes and clothing for garden work). Thursday Afternoon Workshops FOUNDATIONS: WATER Richard Roy Isn t water everywhere: What do I need a Dowser for? In the Northeast, this statement is somewhat true. People have been poking holes in the earth randomly for years and coming-up with good wells. Some of their success is luck, some because of abundant water, and some the drillers kept drilling until they came up with a satisfactory source. Some are successful because they use a Dowser to find the well. In other areas of the country that have less plentiful ground water or where there are contaminants in the water, Dowsers earn their keep. In this course you will learn the basics of dowsing for water and other techniques associated with water dowsing. 18 AWAKEN YOUR THIRD EYE Susan Shumsky What is your "third eye"? And how can you open it? Through the window of your eyes, you can view the ever-changing landscape of your beauteous, miraculous world. You perceive this magnificent world with your five senses: seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling, and feeling. But there is a sixth sense. With this sixth, higher sense perception, you can open the gateway to subtler realms of existence. You can develop an inner eye and view an invisible world, consisting of multiple dimensions, spiritual planes filled with light, and alternate realities of indescribable wonders. This eye of wisdom, knowledge, illumination, and intuition is aptly named The Third Eye. In India this third eye is known as the ajna chakra, a subtle energy plexus in the middle of your brain, seated in the pineal gland. Through this portal of higher vision, you can see what is not evident by solely using your physical eyes. In this workshop, you will explore the third eye in depth. Through using the simple, practical methods taught by Dr. Susan Shumsky, you will learn how to awaken your third eye and develop super-sensory perception by various traditional and non-traditional techniques, both ancient and modern. 18

SUSAN MILLER AKASHIC MESSAGES THROUGHOUT THE AGES The Akasha is the energy field from which dowsers receive their information. It is where one goes when one is in a higher state of meditation. As humanity is reaching a higher state of consciousness, more and more people are able to easily access the Akasha. There are accounts of people accessing the Akasha throughout the ages. From Merlin to Da Vinci, Nostradamus and Edger Cayce, the knowledge and wisdom of the Akasha has been shared with mankind. When a loved one dies, the unresolved grief of the survivor can make an energetic pull on the deceased which prevents the person s spirit from fully moving into the next world. At other times, people pick up the spirit attachment of a stranger who has a similar emotional wound. GARRY NICHOLS ARTWORK AND MAP DOWSING Tasmanian Garry Nichols is a large-scale oil painter, exhibiting in Australia, Japan and the U.S. He has been inspired by the landscape and stone carvings discovered in his youth in Tasmania. After his move to the U.S., he met the dowser Ted Kaufmann who introduced him to the world of map dowsing in 1985, especially techniques to find missing people and missing objects. Garry has been a practicing dowser since, working with Ted on searches using maps and background information. Ted Kaufmann is also Garry's Father-in-Law.
