Like the eyewitness accounts in today s scriptures, the glorious and joyful life all around us helps us to believe the good news of the Resurrection and sing Alleluia! In the scriptures today we hear from Peter and Paul and John. All three speak with conviction about witnessing the resurrected Christ. John s Gospel account includes Mary of Magdala, who also was privileged to witness the Resurrection and tell others the good news. 4 Area News Adult Confirmation Classes Adult Confirmation Classes begin this week and will be held on 3 weeks in April. The dates are: Monday, April 2nd Monday, April 16th and Monday, April 30th The time is from 6:00 to 7:00 pm in the Father DeMaria Activity Center. Confirmation will take place on Sunday, May 20th at St. Joseph Cathedral in Baton Rouge, conducted by Bishop Robert Muench. To participate in this program you must: No longer be in High School Are 18 Years of age or older Have basic understanding of the Catholic faith through religious education, such as Catholic School or Parish School of Religion Have been Baptized and have received First Eucharist. 5 Parish News PSR SUMMER PROGRAM NEEDS YOUR HELP! We are starting to make plans for the St. Mark Summer PSR program which will be May 29th June 8th. Like other ministries in our parish, PSR depends so heavily on volunteers in order to do God s work. Our students are so well behaved, every minute of each day is planned for you, the support system helps you with any need you have, and you are constantly covered by prayers. Keep this in mind ---God calls you because He needs you to share the gifts He has so generously given to you. He needs you to share your faith with His children. Trust Him. He will give you everything you need to do the job. What you offer him will be returned to you a hundred fold. That's not my promise; it's His! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: TEACHERS (minute by minute lesson plans provided) AIDES (call roll, staple papers, gather craft supplies, etc.) BABYSITTERS (take care of teachers children so that they can teach) Volunteer forms will be available soon.
